Gift from friend, not bad but not great, mixes well, preferred in cocktail.

Unlike the blanco and repo, the añejo actually has a more forward aroma - and it is awful. A strange combination of candy cane, cedar and rubber. In spite of the aroma, the flavor is actually tolerable. Again, an oily texture with flavor a of mint, burnt caramel and a bit of peppery spice. Make no mistake, tolerable does not mean pleasurable or good just not as bad as the blanco and repo. The finish is short. 8/29/2015

As with the blanco, the aroma is very subdued. A bit of cedar, sweet fruit and floral notes in the aroma. Again, there is also a slight medicinal/chemical smell as well. Like the blanco, the flavor is a big nothing. A bit of barrel after a few moments but it's gone almost immediately. Short finish. Disappointing but not surprising. 8/29/2015

Aroma is very subdued but a slight floral note (and maybe a bit of watermelon??) is noticeable along with some chemical aroma (almost like a watered-down ammonia) and maybe a hint of agave. After all the strangeness in the aroma, the flavor is a big nothing. Literally, a thick, oily texture followed by a blast of peppermint flavor and a bit of bitterness on the finish but otherwise nothing. The finish is short. This one is a little bit of "what did you expect?". A conversation piece on your bar but not something to actually drink. 8/29/2015
