Very little barrel “sweetness” in the aroma. Cherry, saline and a bit of alcohol are all I’m getting. Flavor opens with a fruity sweetness then a mild heat/spice appears briefly and is quickly gone. Finish is short to nonexistent. This is an all around (aroma, flavor and finish) blah/bland añejo. Nothing bad about it but also absolutely nothing right either. 03-28-2018
Mexican 40% abv. versión, lote: LR1207, marbete is from year 2007, tasted on 1-23-25. Color: yellow to light yellow. Aroma: hint of cooked agave, light vanilla, hint of wood note, light acidity, light citrus, hint of fruitiness, after 20 minutes in the glass a slightly unnatural sweetness emerges. Palate: confirms aromas perceived but it is quite harsh, ethanol sensation is medium to high and ends bitter. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of citrus, ethanol, light vanilla with the slightly unnatural sweet sensation persists.
