Nose: It kinda smells like an añejo, with its sweet Agave and creamy vanilla/butter smell. I’m thinking it may have a touch of additives? I don’t know, but I kinda like the smell, even tho it makes me confused. Taste: A minty agave with a fresh tone at the end. Slightly hot, vanilla, a bit thick but nice viscosity. Finish: Agave forward with a fresh mint and tiny bit of white or black pepper.
Nose: It immediately smells hot of the alcohol, but a Agave aswell and It smells a bit vanilla sweet. A bit cheesy. Taste: Harshy, slight Agave and lemon citrusy. A bit minty at the end. It’s very smooth on the pallet tho and a great viscosity. Medium burn. To be honest, what a surprise, it’s quite good! Additives? I don’t know. Aftertaste: Agave, Mint, maybe a bit too sweet for my taste. Very long finish.
Mexican 38% Plata version, lote: TSC005, bottled on 19-10-2017, tasted on 1-14-24. Aroma: cooked agave, light citrus, hint of earthiness, it has a sweetness that I had associated with sweet cooked agave, but comparing it side by side with Tapatio and Arette unique blanco which are both quite expressive on sweet cooked agave aromas, the sweetness from the Tosco seems unnatural and dry. The natural agave sweetness is fruitier. This type of unnatural sweetness has appeared in quite a few other tequilas that I had tasted in the past 3 months, I will go back and taste those again and modify my notes or points. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, the unnatural sweetness ends slightly dry on the palate, light black pepper, light ethanol sensation through my retronasal. Finish is medium, light cooked agave, earthy, light black pepper and light unnatural sweet note persists.
Bought this on a whim at the local Superior Market. It was $14.99, and I just happened to need a new mixing blanco, so I picked it up. Figured I’d Review it to warn people off. On the nose, agave and something chemical. A fair bit of ethanol. A lot of chemical taste on the palate as well. Some agave in there, but definitely funky and acidic, salty even, not pleasant at all. Quite frankly, this is near undrinkable. A margarita barely saves it, I wish I’d have checked TMM before I bought it.
