I’m sure this has a calling making a specific cocktails in selected market but as far as drinking on its own I would recommend you steer clear. Cloyingly sweet, tastes like someone watered down amarone and mixed it with tequila.
Very interesting, intense Anejio I think? Achieved with li Hing spice which is simply dried plums, so it has rich but somewhat cloying sweet sensation from aroma to flavor. Think its strength like its repo chili infused lies somewhere in mixology. Bartenders are going to have a blast using these in Margaritas. If you want an excellent sipper, try their Blanco. Salud
Reposada has just a smidgeon of woody character, could be masked by chili peppers, would recommend more wood aging to balance (change wood or increase time). For hot chili though it’s not bad, not on fire hot but a quality burn. On fence with this one. Try with food pairing to meld profile would also help.
Reminds of Lalo (same distillery) NOM 1468. Really nice cooked agave, warming but smooth not hot, minimal white pepper, vanilla and salty minerals to round out flavor. This is a solid blanco.
Very clean aroma with no alcohol smell. Picking up some minerality and citrus. Getting orange rind with sparkling champagne along with minerality on taste. Nice finish. Enjoyable sipper.
No codes seen anywhere on the bottle, acquired on March 2023. Aroma: slightly sweet cooked agave, slightly citrus, slightly briny, alcohol sensation is slightly high. Palate: briny raw agave, expressive but almost no sweetness. Finish is medium to long briny raw agave persists.
Clean and refined profile with low complexity. Good mixer! Notes: raw agave, herbal, grass, mineral & metallic
