Aroma/Taste - I wonder if a scotch or sherry barrel was part of the aging process. There's a delightful blend of cinnamon, clove, raisin, and cherry dancing on the palate. And let's not forget that initial kick of hot black pepper—definitely wakes up the taste buds! Finish – The finish is spicy and lingers for quite some time. It reminds me of the red, cinnamon candies that my grandmother offered in a candy dish on the coffee table. Overall – This reposado doesn't hold back—it's big and bold, bursting with intense flavors. I can imagine sipping it outdoors by a crackling fire. While it may not be my top tequila pick, it certainly offers a unique and memorable experience.
Crisp, clean, agave forward Citrus, vanilla This would be a crowd favorite. Can make cocktails, sip, smell, whatever you please. Beginner and experienced tequila drinkers would love this tequila
Nice agave nose, bright and clean. Palate is easy going with signature 1414 flavor. Slight pepper kicks in right at the finish. An easy going sipper. I like it and it’s a fair price.
Nose- very light and clean Taste- This has a ton of cooked agave upfront that flows into a slight oak bitterness, butter, licorice and little vanilla Mouthfeel- thin and watery
Muted nose, soft palate and odd finish. Was not a fan of this one. Tasted with AF 2024 Blind Repo. Revisited with a bottle: Light barrel on nose but unique, citrus, maybe cherry? Palate is easy going with slight pepper finish. It’s an easy non complex sipper but I like it. Upping by a few points.
This tequila looks like it’s going to have a great mouthfeel. It’s coating the glass nicely and producing pearls, tears and nice legs. The nose is fragrant and full of fresh agave, minerals and some faint lime zest. There’s also a very light floral note. On the palate the agave is very prominent as are many Sergio Cruz produced blancos / platas. The lime zest and minerality are accompanied by some cooked agave sweetness before the white pepper kicks in. The pepper lingers nicely all while still tasting the agave and natural sweetness. This is a clean and easy sipping tequila that packs enough of an agave punch to also stand up in cocktails. Vintage: May 2023
Rated blind: Light vanilla but muted nose. Some vanilla on the flavor too. Creamy. Easy drinker but fairly one dimensional.
