Great nose, love how they incorporated the rye barrel, slightly bitter, some light sweetness not exactly for my palette but it is balanced. I think the accomplished what the wanted here. A nice gift for your rye drinkers
ET knob creek repo Let it sit and open. Color is pale, indicating either exhausted barrels or a short sit in the barrels. Nose is fruity with spice and pepper. Palate is similar, with agave and slight caramel coming thru, with a fizzy feeling on the finish. i think i preferred the nose most. There is something different about this tequila that I'm not able to define. Possibly it's from the rye barrels.
Nose: Agave/Butterscotch/Carmel/Oak Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied very impressionable Flavor/Finish Carmel and Agave all the way through. The sweetness on the end finishes from butterscotch back to Carmel with a bit of hay. this is incredibly smooth on the end!
Nose is light agave, fruit notes, some hints of whiskey but not a ton, all in all a clean, light nose, on the pallet is more of the same, light agave, some light barrel notes, its balanced, just wish it had more body/proof to bring out the flavor personally, just taste a little watered down for my taste. Still quality juice though.
Nice barrel nose but not a fan of the palate. Bitterness on the palate and finish
Agave swap Nose: cooked agave, minerals, cinnamon Taste: whiskey, barrel spice, cooked agave Finish: cinnamon, barrel spice sweet agave
Tasted at Luna Tequila (Slidell La) Aroma- cooked agave, light oak, caramel, light pepper, Flavor- thick, very light alcohol, caramel Finish, coats mouth nicely,
Lote A-001KCR 24/08/23 Aroma: spice with toffee and plums and a little alcohol tingle Flavor: sweet stewed agave, eucalyptus, white sage, baking spice, and a hint of caramel and minerality Mouthfeel: medium body with a light alcohol burn on my mid palette Finish: finishes long with all those herbs and spices and some minerality, but the alcohol tingle lingers too Color: light straw This is a very complex tequila that is wonderful to sit and ponder over while sipping. I scored one for under $70 USD, which is an amazing bargain for this quality of tequila.
On the nose I get that floral aroma that I find in all Tesoro expressions. It’s followed up by some smokiness and agave. A lot of complexity on the palette. Definitely taste that barrel influence with a smokey oak flavor to start. Some agave and minerality come through at the end. Definitely a unique expression. Got this for a great price at hi proof liquor. (I don’t work there)
First, this is a Tequila aged in bourbon barrels. It has that oak and smoke flavoring mixed with the agave. I found the mash up really nice. It had a solid tersoro flavor with the touch of bourbon.
Plenty of barrel influence as you’d expect. One for the whiskey drinkers. Interesting mix of agave, vanilla, oak, caramel, and whiskey. I’m detecting banana as well. Overall another great product from El Tesoro and an excellent sipper. Will break this one out on special occasion due to the high price point.
Smells a little smoky, like a whiskey and with a dose of agave. Tastes like a smoky Añejo. Finishes nicely. I like it!!
Agave, caramel, butterscotch, cement, oak and a wee-bit of cream-soda on the nose. Pale, wheat/straw color in the glass. Medium, silky mouthfeel. Agave, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, orange peel and peppery spices on the palate, with an oak and light smoky character. The whiskey-influence definitely comes through, but not so much that it overtakes the primary, tequila quality. Complex and well balanced. Finish is long with just enough spice to keep it interesting. Very nice sipper.
Aroma: sweet, caramel, oak Taste: up front agave, pepper, oak, Finish: smooth, warm
Pepper and Spice.
Lote A-001-KCR Bottled 8/24/23. Aged in Knob Creek Straight rye barrels. nice spicy aroma with lots of rye and oak. Flavor of cooked agave comes through nicely. Well balanced Anejo delivering on the Knob Creek character yet retaining the great La Alteña tradition.
Good smoke and spice, long finish.

Really good expression. Overpriced.
