Nose: pepper / earth / agave / pear / grapefruit / tea / orange blossom/ molasses Taste: sweet agave / pepper / earth / cinnamon/ vanilla/ caramel/ banana/ melon / citrus/ mint / tea / peppermint/ honey/ chocolate/ molasses / minerals Finish: the chocolate note swells on the finish and becomes more prominent and lingering. The mouthfeel is nice and clean…riverwater finish. This reposado is quite tasty. I don’t get a lot of bouquet or strong aromas, but the taste and palate notes are very good and discernible. There’s no specific standout flavors, but when you taste the combination of it all its very enjoyable, though not distinctive.
Light honey, baking spice, on the nose, cinnamon, roasted flavor profile, light mint and mineral notes. Well balanced blanco
Another solid bottling by 1123! I tasted this blind and once I found out this was 46% I was shocked. N- baked agave, citrus, baking spice, apple T- caramelized agave, vanilla, plum, oak, cinnamon spice MF- medium F- long lasting with any sweet notes slowly giving way to a mellow alcohol heat finish V- $70 in Michigan makes this just an average value to me personally. It's fantastic but I try to keep my Reposado purchases around $65 or less when I can
Very nice nose. Agave, oak and a touch of alcohol. This 82 proof repo shows it isn’t your standard repo. All smells are big and bold. I pick up Vanilla and cinnamon. Fruity notes are there as well, including banana. The taste also shows this is 92 proof. The ABV is used well and while alcohol is present on the tongue, it also enhances the sweet agave. I can pull out the oak and a good amount of black pepper but it doesn’t drown out other flavors. I get vanilla and caramel. This is done well. This is worth a spot on your shelf.
Nose: Mint, oak, vanilla, agave, orange peel, lime zest, and citrus Palate: Black pepper, agave, brine, salt, with a pleasant mouthfeel Finish: Heat lingers on the cheeks and was very enjoy. Has a nice kick to it.
2nd night: The aroma presents a straightforward profile, characterized by light oak, cacao, and a subtle ethyl presence, complemented by a delectably faint hint of brown sugar and the distinct scent of cement. Upon tasting, the palate is introduced to a soft caramel flavor, accompanied by notes of cooked sweet potato, mint and the rich essence of dark chocolate cream soda. The peppery bite associated with the blanco expression is tempered by the influence of the barrel. Additional flavors emerge, including hints of green citrus, and a subtle nuttiness. With the finish, a dry pepperiness lingers on the tongue, gradually fading away to reveal exiting notes of cooked agave, cacao, distinct minerality, roasted nuttiness, and an earthy undertone.
Fourth and final of the Lagrimas tasting quartet. Amazing what only 3 months in an American oak barrel can do to an already excellent blanco. Everything I loved about the blanco(vegetal, earthy, minerals, anise) with some light oak notes.
Great nose and taste. Agave and fruit. Finish was the weaker element. A bit of off -flavored sweetness at the end. Still very much recommended. Great value too.
herbacious and mineral nose. almost no alcohol. on the tongue, pepper, a little green apple, hints of caramel and subtle anise. silky mouth feel. a truly wonderful lowlands tequila. for 70ish dollars, this is tough to beat. going to buy more bottles.
Aroma: agave and oak. Hints of smoke and cinnamon. Taste: cooked agave, oak, minerals, cinnamon, spices Finish: agave and oak medium finish. Overall: $70 nice reposado. Light and more oak than most reposados.
I taste the wood of the barrel first, nice smokiness . More clay than lime and mineral. Matches well with salsa roja. Lands just a touch hot.
I was able to finally obtain the 2023 Lote, very light nose which is good, finish is very pleasant!
Color: golden chartreuse. light nose a little cooked agave and oak. Coats mouth well. Taste is nice: floral, agave. finish is long and complex, just keeps going and changing. if there is something you like, you can find it.
Best release yet
Very smooth. Slightly Smokey flavor with a hint of sweetness. Very smooth finish.
Honey aroma
Great repo! Agave forward, light vanilla, oak, and smoke. Overall, a must buy! Bought in Colorado Springs for $70
This is a great repo. I'm a blanco guy but I could drink this everyday and not miss blancos. Nice sweetness, notes of citrus and light spices. Silky as it gets. Another 1123 masterpiece.
Yum.., Aroma- is agave- earth- oakiness- strong herbal- mineral- so wonderful. Palates. Amazing- agave- herbal pepper with some dirt and herbal deliciousness. Finish is short- agave- and herbal earthiness.
Aroma: cooked agave, oak, and old, alcohol, earthy, grass, anise and licorice, vegetal, whiskey, citrus, pencil shavings, cinnamon, vanilla, wet earth, Palate: alcohol, oak, coked agave, vegetal, pepper, mineral, Finishes hot I like the aromas better than the taste. Drinks like a blanco so there is minimal barrel. If you want a repo with lots of cooked agave and minimal barrel then this is for you.
Aroma is incredible. Color is a very light amber. First couple of sips are intense and finish is hot likely due to the 49% ABV. Once palette adapts it is a nice initial caramel taste. Finish remains strong and hot in the back of your throat. Not the smoothest repo for my inexperienced palette but the initial sip keeps me coming back for more. Still trying to enjoy the strong, hot finish but what do I know, I’m new at this.
Starts with an amazing vegetal grass aroma. Sweet taste with mild carmel notes. Not much of a barrel influence and a mild peppery finish. Could almost be mistaken for a blanco.
On nose - caramel, vanilla, sweet creamy fruit, light lime and oak. On taste - orange zest rind, jalapeno. Slight bitter after taste with a light moss note. Hard to distinguish individual notes - everything feels blended/muddy. It has a nice silky mouth feel. Still a great repo but I like PV more.
LOTE 479, bottled on 110124, tasted on 3-25-24. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light aromatic green vegetal notes, hint of anise, light wet earth, light resinous sweetness, hint of fruitiness. Light acidity. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and acidic balance, light fruity aromas through my retronasal. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of sweet cooked agave with green vegetal and light fruity notes persist.

lagrimas sabino repo - Nose: barrel notes / baking spices, agave, cinnamon, mild tropical notes/banana, fruit on high nose. Gets better as it opens! Palate: sweet agave, a little heat, pepper, cinnamon, Finish: warm, pepper Overall: good viscosity, nice sipper. Not sure how I rank it against the other 2 vintages. At some point I'll do a side-by-side Value bumps this up a couple points at $70-USD
