Nose: vanilla and sweet agave cooked with a harmoniously blended aroma / caramel/ butter / hint of melon / pear / pineapple/ grapefruit/ lime / lemongrass/ anise/ flowers/ baking spices / chocolate/ molasses / hazelnut / cream soda Taste: the most harmonious and perfectly unified flavors I’ve ever had / sweet agave cooked / cinnamon/ pepper / vanilla/ butter/ caramel/ banana/ cherry/ pineapple/ melon / hints of lime snd grapefruit / licorice/ spearmint/ tea / baking spice / nutmeg/ chocolate/molasses/ cream soda Finish: a very slight viscous mouthfeel/ unified taste and flavor balance at the top of the game/ cool water effect/ beautiful harmonious taste snd finish…makes the whole experience fantastic. There’s some very bold flavors at 40% abv, but everything feels and tastes great without alcohol greatly affecting any of the flavors or aromas. There’s a lingering sweet agave and vanilla unified flavor….soo good!! This joven is simply special. This expression called Lidia, is named after David Suro’s mother…and there’s an image of her face on the label. Would you dare put out a product that had your mother’s face on it and not make sure it was perfect? I can say he had no worries about his mom being the name and face of that expression….he knew he had nothing to stress about. It’s that good. This tequila is absolutely delicious on a different scale.
The best tequila I have ever tasted. This nose is delicate and bold. I wish this was available to everyone. The nose is a paradise. Sweet agave, it is delicate but so delicious. Deep noses are so easy to breathe in. David Suro, you sir have produced the best tequila I have ever tasted. I smell a beautiful bouquet of agave of butterscotch, agave, vanilla and caramel. The taste is astonishing. It a so sweet with agave. I get caramel and vanilla with with honey and fruits. I really don’t have all the words to describe how good this taste. I know this is a unicorn but I am so happy that I had the opportunity to have this. I wish everyone could. I want to thank my friend Kieth Bogart for letting me taste this. I know it is is extremely rare. I am so happy I had the opportunity to taste this.
Aroma: tropical fruit, smoke, earth, minerality, grap, plum, grass, mint Flavor: minerality, smoke, honey, herbal, mint Finish: short and earthy I bought a bottle for around msrp but I think it’s still priced high even considering the limited amount of bottles
sept 16, 2023 Lidia siembra azul Nose excellent love love love the nose! strong tropical fruit, banana, bubble gum, Palate excellent sweet cooked agave banana really yummy Finish medium price tag kept me from buying this. so, special thanks to my friend seattle juan for sharing this delicious tequila deducted points for price, but this is very good
Interesting blend of flavors. Very light cooked agave notes. Delicate flavor profile
Great Joven expression! This profile is characterized by its fruity & floral nuances. In the aroma; pitted/stone fruits & tropical fruits (melon/pineapple) along with a sweet caramelized agave flavor and sprinkle of spices/herbal/oaky touches. Very lovely bouquet Taste is very friendly with complexity spikes from beginning to end. It maintains its fruity/floral profile, with additional flavors of agave, caramel, barrel spice, & herbs. Texture is very elegant and settles perfectly. $$$ Price is the only issue
Lovely joven. Lots of natural sweetness. Made with 11, 9, and 8 year old agave.
Great joven. Aroma and flavor really good. Lighter finish. Knocked off a few points on the price. Blue Weber agave blend with maturation ages of 11, 9 and 8yrs!
Fruity and floral nose. Agave, fresh melon, pineapple, oak, with clove and some light citrus rind bitters—all balanced nicely. Light profile and dangerously easy sipper, especially for the price. Speaking of which, it’s a hefty price that dings the rating. But I hear there’s 700 bottles so that’s where the premium comes from. Salud!
Stone fruit on the nose along with some very delicate floral notes coming from the bottom of the jarrito in addition to cascading barrel notes from the two aged products in this blend. Claiming to feature some of the oldest tequila produced by the brand and then not stating anything about the Añejo or Reposado components make that label statement more hyperbole than fact though the brand HAS been in business since the later oughts. I should go look at the Siembra web page to see what info is there. Very busy in the mouth at just 40% ABV this settles nicely on a barrel spice and fruit compote profile with some moderate oak and a nice wash of agave sweetness that stays on top of the light viscosity. A nice center tongue buzz adds some punch to the finish and rounds out this interesting release. Per the usual with current releases of this type the price is a serious drawback and this rating takes a hit as a result.
Minerals , light sweetness , floral and agave notes .. the finish is long and it’s impossible to put it down! Special pour
LOT: 01 View: light greenish yellow, similar to that of a reposado or a light añejo. Very good adhesion of tears to the glass. Freshly served; Aroma: mineral, very green herbal, copper, sweet, agave, maybe a little salt, a little spicy like black pepper, pineapple, celery, a little raw jalapeño pepper, a hint of white grape. Taste: very sweet, herbal, mineral, white grape, very pleasant but I think it lacks a little complexity, I would like the flavor to be deeper, it is very sweet and pleasant at first and fades very quickly. Aftertaste: black pepper and nasal citrus astringency like orange peel. Herbal. I let it oxygenate for 20 minutes. Aroma: I think it opened quite well, quite sweet, piloncillo profile, cooked pumpkin, cooked agave and some floral notes, the pineapple and black pepper are still there, also the jalapeño pepper. Taste: very pleasant sweet, slight astringency of the wood. It seems to me that while the oxygenation made it sweeter, the intensity of the rest of the flavors also decreased and it became even less complex, without being bad, just the sweetness and herbality very direct. Aftertaste: citrus and astringent, but less than before, oxygenation lowered the intensity of the aftertaste a little. It was a complex exercise, it is the first Joven I have tried. It’s quite expensive also.
Lote: SAJOV2232, Batch 01, bottled on 19/04/22, tasted on 5-3-24. Color: light yellow. Aroma: light cooked agave, light acidity, hint of citrus, light hay, hint of herbaceousness, after 15 minutes a light white grape juice aroma emerges, hint of earthiness, after 45 minutes of being served the grape-y aroma becomes sweeter like overripe dark red grape skin, which also makes the cooked agave aroma seem sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, once oxygenated the white grape juice sensation instead of tart is sweet on the palate too, good sweet sour and acidic balance. Ends a tad dry. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave, light raw agave, light hay, although citrus aromas & flavors were not very apparent, it ends slightly tangy.
Unlike anything I've tried. Level of complexity is beautiful. Nose: Orange peel, anise, floral & peaches... Tropical background. As for taste: Tropical & pitted fruits, cinnamon, mild heat, along with a caramel/chocolate palate. Samples don't give you what a full bottle does - with that said, a solid 89/100. Second best Joven I've ever tried!
Nice like nose with a tropical fruit pineapple. Cooked agave. Cooked agave. Tropical fruit. Subtle oak. Sweet water. Finish. Nice medium dry finish. Slight tongue tingle. 2 ounces sample supplied by my tequila God fairy. As mentioned the price detracts from the enjoyment an excellent tequila but I feel this trend is getting out of hand.
