Although I didn’t detect any additives in this blanco, this expression is very much on the sweet side. The nose had a mellow agave and vanilla aroma. On the palate, I found cooked agave along with floral notes and grass on the back palate. The viscosity is on the thinner side here, and finish mid range. The sweetness is a detriment to this expression, it hamstrung the punch from the mid palate & finish. For me, “smoothness” doesn’t translate to fantastic tequila and although I can taste quality here, it is unfortunately marred by how heavy handed the sweetness is with this blanco from Compoveda.

Fruit forward for sure. A tad sharp compared to what I imagined. Even still, this is a sipper unless you've got money to burn.

Nose: Clean and bright on the nose. Good agave notes and some citrus with a good amount of minerality. Taste: Roasted agave and black pepper. Complex. A little salinity which made me salivate which is always appreciated. Finish lingers and coats the tongue excellently.

Over all great tasting with a slight smoky Mezcal like finish.

Out of the bottle: slight agave but otherwise quiet Nose: developed with air, slight agave with underlying hints of? Pear, pineapple. Will come back to this bottle to better understand what mores in this! Taste: soft to the palate with a slight bite later on, Finish: goes extremely well with a full bodied guacamole, garlic, red onions and lime juice. Thoughts: agree with others that out of the bottle not overwhelming, but like other varieties, time often develops a joyous outcome!

Sweet nose with light citrus note. Medium body, some ABV & drawing blank. just alcohol. Ice helps but regardless/otherwise don't like it.

Compoveda Blanco Lot 1: Bottle 331 A unique blanco that will surely find a following. The nose is nearly imperceptible. The agave is overpowered by the floral and fruit. A lingering bitterness in the taste carries through to the finish. At $55 (Sip Tequila), this is priced to compete with the likes of Fortaleza or El Tequilino, yet fails to live up to that standard. Nose: Delicate and fresh. Geranium, white peach, lemon citrus up front. Traces of fresh agave, mint, and jasmine. Taste: Soft on the tongue, but there us an immediate slight bitterness like you might find in artificial sweetners. There is a white peppery warmth slowly builds. Its definitely floral and fruit forward like the nose, but they overpower the agave. Faint hints of mint. Finish: There is a tart-bitternes of powdered lemonade that over shadows. The white pepper warmth pleasingly lingers for a long finish.
