Tasted at “Mexico In A Bottle” S.F. 2024
Nice spice, orange peel, light sweetness, caramel, some barrel notes. Not overly complicated
Has a large cedar presence on the palate. Seems to overpower the agave a bit.
If you like smoke you will like this one. In some tequilas, I like it. This one, not so much. Once you get through the smoke there are some nice aromas. Agave and raisin come through. The taste also leads with smoke but it is a little less consuming than on the nose. I get cooked agave, oak, raisin and pepper. It is an earthy tequila Maybe not for my palate but I can see some people really liking this.
tried all three expressions at LATF 2023. so i slighty increased my rating for the blanco. I like it more. blanco Blanco 87 Repo 86 Anejo 85
42% ABV Tasted at Bowl of 'Zole fest 2022. Could only take short tasting notes. Aroma: Baking spice, cooked agave, cinnamon, vanilla, slight smoke Flavor: Vanilla, raisin, cooked agave, honey, orange, baking spice and light smoke with barrel notes. Oily mouthfeel with sufficient heat and some smoke carries through. Not available in NY yet, I'll definitely buy it as soon as it does
I’m picking up earth, barrel spice, touch of smoke, oak, and agave. This was rested for only 2 months in American oak bourbon barrels. I enjoyed this during a tasting event at Osito’s Tap in Chicago. Very small sample where you can’t really pick up aromas. I’ll need to revisit a larger glass and see how my notes and ratings may change. But since there aren’t many ratings for this I wanted to leave some initial thoughts.
Nose: There are gentle smoky agave notes in the initial aroma that dissipate pretty quickly, giving way to orange zest and cinnamon. It continues its transition with soft vanilla tones, a hint of anise and background minerals. The passing acquaintance with the American oak barrel gives it some warmth and depth, leaving the bold agave to shine. Flavor: A spirited and jaunty entrance. Pepper and baking spice. Rich and oily. Buttery. Honey laden agave with smoky anise tagging along. There is much to recommend here.
Wow! This is a treat and one of a kind. Light oak, agave, citrus on the nose. When you take your first sip it is smoky. It is amazing and it’s not overtaking or too much. One of my favorites now!
Tasted at San Diego Tequila and Cuisine event
Raisin, vanilla, molasses, light oak and smoky aromas all in a light-touch. The flavor is my favorite part, though. All of the above shines through, but with a nice sweetness that accents the rest of the flavors. Some smoke lingers on the finish. I don’t find this to be overly smoky, it’s just the right amount.
Smoke, oak, earth snd slight vanilla nose. Smokey taste with sweet agave and barrel notes. Clean finish. If i liked smokiness this would be great.
Smoky mezcalesque. Totally different than many other tequilas. Unique and tasty.
Subtle sweet aroma. Very smooth and light. Hints of agave and sweet flavors. Very mild finish with some spice.
Smokey
smoky! get the Barrell flavor
Tasted as a flight at Palenque. Bright agave with a pleasant smokiness. Very approachable and a good sipper.
as a blanco guy this is too mild, and too smooth with little alcohol finish and sweet body. but recommend. caramel, cinnamon, little smoke mezcal taste
Aroma: Smoke, Vanilla, Oak, Agave, Cinnamon, Baking Spicss, Dried Fruits, Raisin, Earth, Floral, and Herbal Taste: Smoke, Oak, Vanilla, Agave, Dried Fruit, Herbs, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Earthy, Raisins, Anise, Grass
On the nose, I get smoke, oak floral, and herbaceous notes. Vaguely reminiscent of certain varieties of mezcal, I've had rather light mouthfeel and chestnut in the taste with a smoke, oake, chestnut, honey, and black pepper on the finish. Make no mistake, this is a special and unique reposado if you enjoy smoke. Luckily, I do. That said, this tequila dropped a couple of points or so on the "value" category because of the higher price tag.
Love its balanced complex flavors from caramel oak pepper lightly smoked and still cooked agave. Very well done.
I’m not a fan of smoke so that influenced my rating.
Sweet honey and light bright fruit with a strong smoky end palate and finish.
Smoking with a oaky finish

This is unique and polarizing. I like it. Smoke and slight bitterness on the aroma. Good flavor. The smoke is mellow on the finish.
