Mellow XA with lite sweet barrel notes. Balanced and priced very well for 46 month aged tequila

Listed and sold by Total Wine stores near me the picture here and on the TW page show a 55% XA...yeah, no. Other than marketing shots it doesn't exist from what I am able to find. Tequila is OK though I don't think the Elijah Craig finish influence is very prominent at all hence the score. I expected more.

Can tell immediately that this was finished in Elijah Craig barrels. Aroma is smooth sweet. Flavor is sweet with slight spice and wood. Finish is smooth with a hint of pepper.

I’m not a huge fan of lunazul, but this is more of a mixer brand than one we think of for sipping. This extra anejo is done in Elijah Craig barrels and it shows. The aroma is settled and smooth. On the palate, the Elijah Craig finish comes through with some slight spice and wood and smooth. The finish is very short with not much lingering. At the price, there are anejos I would get. This Lunazul expression is good for people who don’t do tequila or want an easy sipper to drink.

I had this side by side with san matias xa and it killed it. Its strong in oak, agave and spicy peppery finish. It taste like elijah craig if u like elijah craig but still have tequila agave flavors. Very good value price for extra anejo.

Another bourbon drinker’s tequila here. I really enjoy the barrel notes of caramel and vanilla. Lovely bourbony finish. Easy sipper and one that would pair well with a cigar.
