In late 2024, LALO released its first “high proof” expression, a 108 proof version of its trademark blanco.
This iconic Mexican spirit, synonymous with celebration, is once again in clear view, and the options in Austin are lovely.
The 12 finalists are tequilas that offer vibrant and varied aromas and flavors with good texture and a pleasing aftertaste.
Lou explains why he likes LALO Blanco.
Nose: raw agave, cooked agave, jalapeño and melon. Silky mouthfeel tastes of agave, butterscotch, honeydew & orange. Lingering finish of peppercorn and cinnamon. This has a different profile that a lot of other Blancos - warm spices, creaminess and naturally sweet. Great blanco borderline exceptional at the price point.
