Nose: A nice punchy sweet agave aroma. Full bodied with earth, olive, pepper, mild vanilla, and grassy elements at play. Orange peel mixed with subtle fruit notes of cherry, plum, tropical fruits, and grape skins. Minor herbal and vegetal notes as well. Palate: Medium body with thick viscosity. Damn this is good. Sweet agave up front which covers my tongue very well. The fruit enters the show in the mid palate with cherry, grape skins, and light tropical fruits. Finish is very pleasant and lasts quite a while

A pronounced vegetal element, earthy palate, light minerality, loads of pepper, subtle mint, sweet cooked agave, freshly cut grass. This is a sweet sipper, but delicious all the same. Cascahuin Tahona is a winner from the valley!

Nose: agave forward / alcohol/ pepper/ citrus / light fruitiness / lemongrass and orange blossom/ Flavor: bright - but with rainwater minerality / black pepper/ banana/ orange peel / mint / salt Finish: alcohol and black pepper/ a slight thickness and viscosity to the finish / lingering pepper and bittersweet with a touch of spearmint This blanco doesn’t deliver a lot of variegated nose or tasting notes, but scents and tastes it does deliver are in harmony and are unified into a very distinct experience. The citrus notes work in concert to give the pepper and bittersweet finish a nice applause…. It’s just not a standing ovation.

Lot 126, bottled 060921 Aroma initially had strong vegetal notes but after ~5 minutes cooked agave emerges as the primary note. Some underlying aromas of citrus and minerals enhance this blanco. Flavor opens with a nice peppery spice that quickly blends with sweetness from the cooked agave. Lasting warm finish is very nice and held this one stand out from so many others that fade in a flash. 5-30-2024 Cascahuin triple - Tahona blanco, 11 Brix blanco and Siete Veces Diez reposado

Lot 394. I don’t know about you but Tahona crushed tequilas seem to have some of the best noses. This has a great cooked agave smell with a good bit of minerals and pepper. I get some citrus on the nose and a little alcohol. The taste is amazing. Cooked agave shines with pepper. I also get earth and vegetal notes with honey and brine. This really works well together and while not my absolute favorite blanco. It is in the top echelon for me.

Aroma starts with loads of cooked agave, followed by some minerality from the tahona. Flavors of cooked agave, black pepper. A lovely, long finish. Old school techniques are still the best!

Vegetal, sweet taste, spicy, medium finish. Agave bomb!

This is the best vegetal, earthy tequila ive had. I typically prefer the naturally sweeter vanilla fruity tequilas, so I wouldn’t typically pay $90 for this but top of the line on the earthy side. Loved it

Nose: Loads of citrus and cooked agave, earthy minerals. Lots of lemon peel for me, it’s exploding with citrus. Palate: Cooked agave, earthy, citrus and cinnamon. Lots of flavor here. No ethanol, finish is seemingly endless. A little pepper spice. A touch of jalapeño and something like cucumber. Tasty, and very different from my normal go-to pours. This is a good offering from Cascahuin.

Aroma of agave, light citrus, pear, cucumber, wow what a bouquet! Flavor is sheer heaven. Some lactic as others have mentioned but agave, hard fruit, vanilla, light citrus. This is a masterpiece of a Blanco!

Blancos dont get much better than this. Great oily entry with tons of warm cooked agave and mineral on both the nose and palate. Some pear and bubble yum. Not pricey in LA. Worth a hunt in other areas.

Agave forward on the nose… some fruit elements like citrus…. Has another aroma can’t place it … maybe olive… has a bite up front and it stays for a minute… long finish. Taste of cooked crushed agave, balanced sweetness… agave is prominent and comes through

Nice level of complexity for a blanco. More viscosity than the average tequila with notes of pepper and cinnamon quite enjoyable as a sipper.

Wow, this is really good! This is one where I find the taste exceeds the nose. I compared side by side with G4 Blanco (which I love), and the nose on G4 is so crisp, full of cooked agave, and a sweet citrus smell. Cascahuin Tahona is more suttle with cooked agave and olive on the nose. First sip just explodes with cooked agave with an oily mouth feel. Not as complex as Calle 23 Criollo, or Fuenteseca Cosecha, but this is a Blanco I will keep on hand and recommend to others.

Aroma: Beautiful raw and cooked agave. Some sweet floral notes as well. Taste: Nice mouthfeel, more agave, white pepper, some minerals, eucalyptus. Finish: medium with nice heat and that herbal eucalyptus thing hanging around. This is a really good one and well worth the bump in price over the other blancos from this wonderful distillery!

Wonderful all the way around. It opened up a little for me on the second tasting and I bumped it up a few points. I think it needs a little time to breathe. I get minerality and earthiness throughout with this tequila. Nice cooked agave aroma and flavor. The finish is really nice and smooth. Overall a winner and definite repeat. It’s easy to tell this is a well crafted tequila.
