Musty nose and palate that doesn’t impress
Nose: Opens with bright agave and a strong wave of spearmint, backed by noticeable minerality and citrus. There’s a sharp edge of alcohol that cuts through, along with a cooling sensation in the nostrils that almost feels medicinal. Palate & Mouthfeel: Cooked agave leads the way, followed by white pepper, citrus, and a return of that spearmint. Mouthfeel is medium thin, and while there’s a bit of a burn, it’s manageable. As it lingers, the mint note starts to dominate - teetering into Listerine territory. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely skews a little too fresh. Finish: The cooling sensation carries into the finish, with white pepper providing a gentle warmth that builds nicely. Final Thoughts: It’s not bad, but it’s far from refined. The alcohol is too assertive and the spearmint takes over more than it should. Lacks complexity and balance.
Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Spearmint, Anise, Thyme, Agave, Minerality Flavor: Earth, Agave, Sweetness, Asparagus Finish: Vanilla, Cream Soda, Agave This benefits greatly by giving it some time to open up. The alcohol and earthy notes begin to give way to more agave and minerality. The earthiness makes another appearance on the palate along with a bit of sweetness. The finish is even a bit more sweet. I get agave, and cream soda mostly. This was decent, but nothing that blew my mind.
A decent blanco. Nothing overly complex. Hints of white pepper and green peppers with hints of agave sweetness.
Blanco Overall, a subtle, sweet, easy sipper. not complex. A little pepper and grass on the nose. More sweetness on the palate. Not much of a finish. quite possibly due to excessive aeration. regardless, this is an easy sipper and very approachable to newbies. tho it may be too mellow for experiences enthusiasts.
Light citrus, herbal, white pepper, slightly cooked agave notes. Overall balance shows in the finish
Bright agave, citrus notes in the front finishes with a slight pepper. Good value.
the tequila was good enough to get and 80 from me, but the advertising, promotion, and social media is horrible. They keep showing people slamming it down in shot glasses to 'evaluate and compare it to other brands.. which is a joke
An agave heavy nose that tilts a bit toward acetate. Traditional vibes. Raw agave, acetate, alcohol, green paper. Finishes to mint. Nice mouth feel. Medium hot. Medium long. Pretty solid overall.
Nice nose, but there is very little anything on the palate with a bit of ethanol at the back of the throat. This is touted as smooth which in this case means like water I guess.
Nice balances blanco, slightly sweet, but nice Agave flavor, smooth finish, great price point at $29
I had already ordered the Reposado after hearing Todd talk about the creation and process. Very pleased, so I ordered the blanco. This is a fantastic tequila. I really enjoy this. I love the earthiness and aromas of the cooked agave. I sense a little smoke or maybe a barrel essence, but I don't believe the blanco is rested for any short time...I think it's straight in. I could be wrong. In any event, it's freaking delicious. I have yet to put it i. a cocktail....just sipping is awesome! Ya know...I haven't yet tried La Gritona....although it is ON MY LIST...sorry Melly B. However, she is a terrific master distiller and to house a production of all women....Something pretty sweet about that!!! Salud.
Tasted in Chisholm Trail Glass Aroma: Cooked Rich Agave, Cinnamon, Earthy, Herbal, Floral, Cooked Sweet Potato, Citrus, Light Vanilla essence. Taste: Sweet Cooked Agave, Cinnamon, Minerals, Lime Citrus, Light Herbal Light Black Pepper. Very muted tequila. Surely not offensive. Just lacks depth of flavor.
A very approachable easy to drink Blanco with good agave flavor
Very enjoyable tequila- aroma is very earthy with hints of gravel and vegetal. Wet agave with grass, pepper, and citrus. On the palate it’s agave, pepper, wood, and alcohol. Finish is quick with agave and pepper.
Aroma is agave forward alcohol hint and with some grass. Taste good agave notes, with a little pepper flavor. Not a strong finish as I would like, I’ll probably use more for cocktails than sipping.
Great for margaritas.
Decent blanco. Comes from a great distillery and you can tell all the good stuff is in it, it’s just I want more. Great for shooting and making cocktails
Casa Olivo Austin I don’t get much of anything in smell and taste. Some raw agave but nothing offensive. Just average.
There is nothing overwhelming here, whether positive or negative. I get a hint of funkiness that I generally don’t like but it’s not offensive. Nose: slight agave, alcohol, citrus, lactic, mild soap Palate: mint, pepper, citrus, grass Finish: lacks viscosity, pasty aftertaste
Not bad. It's alright. good for mixing too.
