Heavy heavy sweet cake batter aroma. So much that I can’t detect anything else. Major vanilla bomb in the mouth. I guess this is aimed at people who are either brand new to tequila, or who don’t actually like tequila. It’s not for me, though.
Sweet, cake batter aroma, silky mouthfeel and simple cake batter flavor. Not bad at all- easy to drink, just not complex. Maybe a good choice for a tequila beginner, but a more experienced drinker won’t find agave or diverse barrel notes here.
Simply not a fan of claro product
To preface, I loved the SM tahona tequilas, those are phenomenal. This is an atrocity. At $55 dollars a bottle no less. So lucky I was able to taste it without buying. I would rather drink Pinnacle Whipped vodka, I’m sure it would taste the same and be a fraction of the price. Loaded with vanilla additive to the point it smells like a vanilla frappe from Starbucks. Tastes like you left birthday cake in a sub par tequila bottle for a day and poured a glass. And I hope you loved that flavor because it clings to your tongue like it’s paying rent.
Marbete is from 2018. Bottled on 05-11-2019. Aroma: at first a cotton candy sweetness can be perceived that fades away after 15 minutes, then I can smell slightly cooked agave, black pepper, minty and a touch of citrus. Palate: ethanol sensation is high at the beginning but mellows, raw agave, black pepper, a hint of citrus and cotton candy sweetness. Finish is medium, the raw agave and cotton candy sweetness persists.
Long, smooth finish with layers of complexity. A well made cristal.
Vanilla, cookie
Very soft agave notes as almost any cristalino , you can’t perceive alcohol aromas, sweet vanilla taste
Wish I can get this in California
This is a great Cristalino
You may just want to mix with some sparkling water or something. It's an ok tequila when you think of all the stuff on the shelf in the USA. I bought because of Cristalino, but wouldn't buy again. For the same price there are much better tequilas. This is not a negative review, but more of a "myeh".
A very good Tequila. Notes of Vanilla & almond a little wood. Great bottle at this price
I really like the aroma. Hoping that the taste is the same Taste of fresh agave and simply flavors. Lacking a lot of finishing flavors. Wasn’t what I was really expecting. I get this a lot from the Cristalino category. Not a big fan of filtering out essence an Añejo just to get it back to clear.
got this one as a gift but is my favorite at this time. very smooth and enjoy drinking it neat. with rocks, I don't taste the agave.
An after dinner sweet dessert tequila, otherwise too sweet me. Aroma and taste of agave, honey, spices with cinnamon and white pepper evident. I'd not dilute this one as a mixer. To me the tastes would be compromised. If you get it and keep it - don't mix it . . . I have some confusion as to the rationale or lack of it - in having 3 or 4 styles of bottles between S M and S M Legado. Mixtos, agave 100%, Tacoma, etc., etc.! I'd love it simple and straight forward. Oh! Their bottle stopper on this style bottle is not the best, not even so-so, it sucks, unless you plan to open the bottle and it and use it all at once . . . cuz it pops off spontaneously ! ! !
surprisingly great tasting Tequila for the price.
enjoyed while in SJDCabo on vacation , very nice nose , sweet , agave , smooth when sipping , fruit flavors but not overpowering the agave , very nice finish , highly recommend .

On the nose, Vanilla and cherry. Cake batter, and then that familiar agave aroma, with some cinnamon and general baking spices. The cake batter is really the star of the show, reminds me of La Gritona. Its all very aromatic and light, that’s the best way I can describe it. On the palate, Surprisingly more agave than the nose would suggest but that vanilla cake batter is strong. Definitely sweet, though not as overly sweet as it smells. Some aromatic almond notes, honey. This is definitely on the sweeter side. Overall, this is interesting, its only the second cristalino I’ve tried. San Matias claims additive free, but this is a weird one. There is a lot of interesting aromas but theres definitely similarities to the XA. Its fine, it blows DJ70 out of the water so worth a shot for that specific niche, but it’s definitely a little bland. I’ll keep this bottle for my hardcore DJ70/42 fans, but I will never buy this again.
