Aroma shows some fruit but is dominated by whiskey. Moderately dry flavor with traditional oak taste of vanilla. Cinnamon spice and black pepper build over time. Short finish. Disappointing but I guess the thought going in was to pronounce the whiskey flavor. Not for me.

Nose: Soft and inviting at first, the nose leans heavily into dessert territory - think Almond Joy candy bar and a faint buttery pastry note. There’s a whisper of florals in the background, like dried chamomile or jasmine, but any agave brightness is muted. A hint of peppery spice adds some lift, but the barrel character dominates. Palate & Mouthfeel: The palate opens with warm, rounded flavors - burnt sugar, toffee, and a touch of pear. A vanilla custard layer sits underneath, while a subdued citrus oil note gives a flicker of acidity. The peppery spice intensifies mid-palate, helping to rein in the sweetness, but the agave presence remains hard to find. The texture is soft and velvety, more reminiscent of a dessert liqueur than a tequila. Finish: Lingering and gentle, the finish brings more of that creamy sweetness - crème caramel and spiced butter, with a late arrival of clove. It’s smooth and easygoing, but feels more like the tail end of a bourbon than a tequila, with the agave struggling to break through. Final Thoughts: While clearly crafted with care, this tequila feels more like a whiskey lover’s experiment than a celebration of agave. The time spent in ex-bourbon barrels has softened and sweetened the profile to the point where the spirit’s identity gets lost.

Hints of cherry and apple on the nose, followed by vanilla and a fruit bouquet on the palate. Great gateway tequila for bourbon lovers. Reminiscent of the typical Buffalo Trace flavors.

I LOVE George TStagg! But this variation is OK, not great.

Smoothe and a little sweet on the opening which fades rather quickly. Ok, but I prefer others at this price point

Interesting twist on this tequila. The various barrels nearly turn it into something totally different. Excellent craftmanship. However, for the tequila purist, this is more of a whiskey, due to the aging and barrel treatments...

This tequila was spot on for what I would expect of a high end tequila. The buttery aroma is very smooth and silky as expected from an anejo... The first impression on the lips is a very light and clean. The finish is super smooth and one of the best I've experienced. Highly recommended to anyone who loves tequila.
