Hi-Time Wine Cellars single barrel edition, barrel 1182, bottle 154 of 300. A lot of barrel flavor, oaky bitterness, and less agave flavor than I prefer. However, this is my brother’s favorite tequila.

Barrel #777: Plenty of oak, caramel, and vanilla, while still preserving the agave before finishing with a hint of chocolate and pepper.

Tasted this at a special event in Seattle, hosted by David Yan Gonzalez, Global Brand Ambassador for Casa Noble. The main aroma I picked up was caramel. Flavors of vanilla and the oak from the French oak barrel. At this age, not much flavor of the agave. Finish very smooth like a fine sipper. I have seen some "sale" prices but still higher end.

Was able to get my hands on a bottle of this prized Extra Anejo. This bottle is from barrel #69 bottle 250 of 300. I am a big fan of the Anejo, so you can imagine I was very excited to add this to my collection. After tasting the 2 side by side, this is what I found. The comparison is very similar. However the Extra Anejo lacks the alcohol on the nose and is quite a bit more smooth on the tongue. The regular Anejo is sharp at first with a lingering light burn, the Flavor of oak and vanilla is quite evident. The extra Anejo lacks the sharpness of the 2yr. The vanilla is found much faster, with a quick peppery burn and a long lasting flavor of the oak barrels. This may be best tequila I have had to date. Not sure where to go from here, perhaps the 8yr.

Ciudad de las Rosas | Aged 5 years, 5 months and only 300 bottles made! Lighter French oak, herbal notes and spice. Deliciously.

If “WOW” was acceptable enough of a descriptor I would leave it that but I’m sure the details of the smooth taste with hints of caramel and vanilla. Everything about this pour is exceptional; from the aroma to the finish. Priced a little higher thank I prefer but easily a new favorite of mine.

Casa Noble Single Barrel XA, Barrel #1170, Bottle 142/300. $125 USD (Virginia) Summary: Dark in the glass with a medium-bodied richness in the nose and layers aromas that make for a great approach. The taste is every bit as delicious and well rounded, but has a thin-moderate viscosity.  The finish is long, rich chocolate and pepper.  I really like this XA. Nose: Immediately hit with warm dark sugars, light caramel, light vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, and butterscotch. Further into the glass, there is oak, honey, black pepper, orange peel and a slight barrel char.  Exceptionally delightful. Taste: A very smooth entry of flavors with a thin-to-moderate mouthfeel. The sweet, bitter, and savory notes really work well together, starting with oaky bitterness and dry coca. The sweet builds with dark caramel, burnt sugars and cinnamon spice, and mouth feel thicknes into creme brûlée. The cooked agave appears at the end. Finish:  The sweetness continues along with a faint rise of ripe banana, then is dominated by chocolate, cinnamon, and white pepper.

Barrel #246 | Sweet agave scents. Unlike some recent Anejos, this one didn't have an overwhelmingly sugary flavor on the mouth. Because to the third distillation, the flavor is very smooth wonderful ending. Well-rounded and quite engaging.

Oak and a musty/dustyness then caramel and vanilla. Viscosity is thin. A sweet arrival and a development that is bitter and soapy. Finish is short and mild.

Nose of vanilla and spice, caramel and butterscotch. Smooth body and beautiful amber color. After bite tinge of sweet alcohol, oak. Tastes of caramel, burnt sugar, thick mouthfeel and creme brûlée. It is very sweet.
