At the bar: This reminded me of drinking overly sweetened tea. I don’t enjoy tripple distilled because it takes away the challenge of tasting for me. This drink went down without a fight and was too tame for me to truly enjoy. It ultimately reminded me of sweet tea with an ethanol tinge. I would be truly bored if I was sipping this on a regular basis.

Medium amber in the glass. Aroma of alcohol vanilla and a bit of black pepper. Flavor is very artificial with vanilla, sugar or candy and oak. Even the color looks artificial. Medium finish.

Really didn’t like this from the first sip, diffuser, lacking any resemblance of cooked agave

Bitter and dry with lots of alcohol and barrel flavor.

Initial aroma is antiseptic alcohol and brine. With a little time (5-6 minutes), the aroma evolves to more traditional barrel notes - caramel and vanilla - but still carries some of the antiseptic aroma from the opening. Flavor opens full of tropical fruit - banana, pineapple, slight citrus - that is quickly overcome by a strong, spicy heat. For all of the flavor, the finish is surprisingly short. 9/9/2015

Sweet vanilla and a little Caramel on the nose. Leather tannins and a heavy burn.

Very offputting soapy taste to the añejo. This was from the older glass bottle without the copper accent.

Big ethanol nose with some fresh agave. If you can get past the immediate wet cardboard and prickle, there’s some roasted agave and vanilla in there. Not terrible, but not great either. Seems sloppy, definitely a large amount of heads and tails in this one. Need more of the hearts. Better options are out there.

Depends on your expectations. If you are looking for a mixer to take the place of a rye or whiskey because you prefer tequila, this is worth using. The flavor is strong enough to stand up to in ginger ale (my favorite),old fashioned or Manhatten. If you are looking for a sipper, better value elsewhere. Not at that level.

Great inexpensive sipping tequila. Made tequila old fashioned with it and turned out great with flavors of Agave and vanilla coming through.

L03537209V11227, brown round bottle, marbete is from 2007, neck label depicts 3 men with their names: Don Cenobio, Don Eladio & Don Javier Sauza. Color: yellow: Aroma: strong green notes, wet earthy, slightly minty, alcohol sensation is medium high. Palate: anise, green notes, light raw agave, light vanilla and oak notes, feels oxidized. Finish is medium, green notes with light raw agave persist.

This was an average tequila with a smoky taste close to a mezcal, but artificial. Sipping this was smooth, but I was disappointed with the diffuser and strong pepper finish. I don't hate it, but wouldn't recommend it either.

Tres Generaciones bottles a bouquet of flavor and Sauza tradition

Bottled in elegant, curvy bottles whose labeling reflects three generations of Sauza tequila, Tres Generaciones at first might seem like Sauza's attempt at an artisanal tequila.
