The highest end bottles of agave spirit are best enjoyed on their own. Here’s a look at some of the world’s best sipping tequilas.
The struggle these days isn't in finding a superb, distinctive, and refined tequila – one that instantly erases any hangover memories of rotgut shots – but deciding among myriad great options.
For the 2012 collection, Mexican artist, Ricardo Pinto, has been chosen to feature his artwork on the box for the special edition of Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo.
Nose: Big presence of oak and vanilla from the start. Cooked agave emerges with earth and grass. Not able to detect any fruit or herbs. I get a jolly rancher note similar to some bourbons which is very interesting. Palate: Nice viscosity and mouth feel. Front palate stars with oak and steadily transitions into vanilla sweetness. Jolly rancher element appears on the mid palate. Finish is relatively long with oak. I enjoyed this pour. While I believe there are additives in this tequila, I do enjoy it.
