Beautiful nose. Agave and banana. Nice fruity aromas. I get a bit of cream soda. This was barrel 11

Nose: agave / vanilla/ cinnamon-pepper/ hint of melon / lime / tea / baking spice / hint of chocolate/ hint of molasses/ maple / cream soda / Taste: agave cooked sweet / vanilla/ pepper/ banana/ apple/ melon/ grapefruit/ anise / lemongrass / tea Finish: sweet cooked agave and spicy pepper-cinnamon prevail through the whole taste with a slightly viscous mouthfeel. This single rum cask reposado has some very tasty sweet and spicy and rum barrel flavors that give plenty of palate notes that linger all through the finish. Very nice expression from NOM 1414 and Sergio Cruz.

I had barrel 11 (Traditional) and 13 (Tropical) from Sip Tequila. The tasting notes I had for the two barrels are the opposite of what I thought it was going to be. The 11 was creamy, buttery, vanilla, baking spices, and toasted coconut. However,(comma) the traditional barrel gave more earthy, mineral, orange zest, and more agave. I favored the tropical pick for North Carolinas 2 barrels but we are still waiting on it.

So this one surprised me. Used to the Yeyo Blanco, and the amazing citrusy flavor, the aroma is very similar but the flavor is completely different. The rum barrel aging is extremely subtle. Picked up more on the nose than the tongue. And I got a bit of an astringent feel in my initial tasting. Not negative, just noticeable. Once in the mouth I get a bit of sweetness, agave is definitely there, up front, then I get an almost pineapple as it dissipates with a mild cooked agave flavor in the finish. Extremely smooth, and that finish flavor lingers pleasantly on the pallette. Very well balanced. Love this one.

Barrel #3 Compared to 2023 yeyo reposado, this tastes more like your standard reposado. The rum influence is much more subtle compared to last year’s edition.

This is totally amazing. I have never had a tequila that is like this one- wow. Aroma is fresh cut agave- a light fruit…maybe banana and the smell of fresh dew on a palm tree. The palate is the most amazing- golly- wet agave with the flavors of a hundred agave fibers, a velvety smoothness like no other- it’s thick- and is almost pure agave and then towards the end a peppery tropical wetness- this is delicious- words cannot explain how incredible this is. The finish is one that begs for the whole experience again- has me seeing myself laying in an agave field with a tropical rain pouring down.
