Michoacan agaves shine once again! Gotta let this breathe for a bit, then Bam! It opens up to clean Agave, cinnamon, citrus, mint, minerals, pepper, maybe jalapeno? Another winner from Gran Legado!

High proof nose for sure so watch your nostrils. Nice beautiful agave. Pepper and sweetness right off the palate with a very long warm and pepper finish. Long beautiful legs on the glass. The sweetness on this is from that 40 Brix. Yum!

Nose: Fragrant and earthy eucalyptus honey. Slightly nutty. Fruity. Tinged with nutmeg, anise and minty oregano. Crisp citrus and minerals. Juicy sweet 40 brix Michoacán agaves unmistakably hold the pole position, with all other components contributing to the harmony. Flavors: First sip fills the palate with a dense, creamy texture, feisty pepper, anise and viscous salinity. The crescendo builds. Then the big bold spice elements back off, submitting to the sweet agave. Every element is in proportional balance. From first aromas to the very last sip, this is a stroll through an agave minefield.

Sweet cooked agave, minerals, mint, white pepper, slight herbs, touch of anise. The aroma is amazing and while it’s a little “hot” on first sip after that it’s beautiful. Love these 40brix Michoacán agave—makes all the difference. If you are a high proof lover then you HAVE to try this!

Aroma: herbal, spearmint, citrus, floral. Taste: pepper, minty, jalapeño, sounds crazy but sweet macadamia nut. Finish: pepper and earthy. Long lasting.

LOTE 442, bottled on 251023, tasted on 2-23-24. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, aromatic herbs, aromatic green vegetal notes, light acidity & citrus note, after 30 minutes in the glass a light floral note emerges and agave notes becomes sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, through my retronasal I smell floral and citrus notes, fresh & crisp. Ends a tad bitter. Finish is long, light sweet cooked agave with citrus notes, acidic balance, aromatic green vegetal notes with a hint of earthiness persists.

All the flavors you’d expect from 1123. Didn’t drink like a HP. Great agave and citrus flavors.

I thought this was really good, it’s the first 1123 that I didn’t immediately think it smelled/tasted essentially the same as the other 1123 products - I like that flavor but it was exciting that this was something new and different. This has a great nose, almost a 1579 nose. Strong agave but delicate. The taste is very salty, I wouldn’t say briny, just salty and peppery. I like the nose more than the flavor. It isn’t hot at all, it drinks well below 54.5% so it doesn’t blow you away with ethanol or alcohol. I put it in a Paloma, and it sort of disappeared. I will try it in other drinks. It’s not super sweet so it might work well in a sweeter drink, maybe a traditional margarita.

Strong cooked agave nose. Has a minty and almost floral scent, as well. Initial flavor is a cooked agave bomb. Really excellent on the first sip. Follow up sips (after letting the juice in the glass breathe for a bit) reveal some grassy vegetal notes, a nice herbal taste, a hint of white pepper, and a citrus tang that's reminicent of lemon zest. The finish is very fruity and really lingers on the palate and I would go so far as to say the finish is the best part of this excellent still strength blanco.

Slight mint, cooked agave on the nose; as expected for high proof, slight burn on the tongue; warm agave, honey, almond on the front; slight eucalyptus, mint, honey across the palate, probably too complicated for my amateur palate; oily, creamy light smoke on the backend; at $85 USD, this is a decent deal.

Nose is balance of cooked agave, slight alcohol, anise and sweet sugars. Taste is amazing, perfect combination of agave, anise, pepper and an amazing sweetness. Finish is an outstanding balance of cooked agave and pepper. This is an amazing High Proof.

Upon a whiff and some sniffs I get: light smoke, freshness, minerality, agave, faint orange citrus, no scathing ethyl, which adds to its overall aromatic appeal. The palate is greeted with grassiness, sugar, yeast, tartness, anise, smoke, green citrus, lime, pepperiness in mouth with brine intertwined with sharp ethyl, peppermint and a sugar-cane sweetness from start to finish. A spike of heat along the way but nothing off-putting. The finish, for me, is literally mouthwatering with near green apple freshness, clean minerality that fades away slowly with agave essence and grassiness. Flavor from beginning to end.

I love to let this one open up for about 8 to 10 minutes, and then let the experience begin! The mouthfeel, the spice, the heat that fades to sweetness, and the finish that demands another sip.

bright thick mouthfeel, very agave forward, very “Cascahuin”, minerals, cinnamon, heavy pepper that lingers in throat, little anise, and mint that shows up on the heels. Excellent Still Strength overall, as those high brix Michoacán agaves really come through and stay present throughout
