2023 - yeyo produced 12 single barrel reposados, each aged in a different rum barrel. so far, I've tried 4 of these expressions = 2,4,5 and 11, and for at least a couple of them I'm rating high 80s. I will try all 12 expressions and adjust my rating accordingly. note, i wish TMM had a way to rate all 12 individually

Of the 12 Single Barrel Repos made for various retailers, I have tried three of them. Lot 4 (Old Town) is 85, Lot 1 (Sip Tequila) is 85, and Lot 6 (Sip Tequila) is 86

Barrel 5/12 Bottle #245 The Tequila Collective Barrel Nose: Warm, round aromas. Tropical spices. Cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg. Minty thyme and vanilla. A tiny ticke of white pepper. A touch of mineral sharpness as found in naturally occurring spring mineral waters. Banana cream pie, grilled pineapple and cherry lifesavers. Flavors: Unctuous sweetness coats the palate. Back palate pepper heat amps up. A nutty almond praline vibe. Frolicsome florals (gardenias?) and fruit. The tropical spices provide some balance and structure. Finish: A fun profile that will appeal to many. Be prepared for sweetness and rum nuances.

I believe 12 single barrels (rum) lote 100 blanco fill. I tasted 2 barrel lots from Sip tequila. One slightly darker then the other. Both nose, was excellent. Sweet, tropical notes. Light mouth feel. Pleasant finish.

Barrel # 5: Banana on the nose. What a unique nose. Tropical. Some barrel notes on the palate. Pepper on the finish. This is a nice sipper. I like everything but the price.

Single Barrel # 2 LA Tequila Club/Roadrunner exclusive. This is the infamous "Red Velvet" bottle. Aged in rum casks and you can tell. Agave joined by tropical notes of plantains, coconut, dried fruit, interestingly different, yet delicious.

Yeyo Reposado #2 - Yeyo used their Batch 100 Blanco to fill 12 Rum Casks that were aged and later bottled as 12 different single barrel Reposados. This is the Roadrunner Spirits / LA Tequila Club pick; Barrel #2. - The nose is vibrant and tropical. Pineapple jumps out of the glass along with mango and coconut. It has an agave backbone but also has hints of red velvet cake that’s easy on the cream cheese. It has a juicy fruit vibe going. The nose is very unique but pleasant and intriguing. It has a rum cake vibe. - The agave is more pronounced on the palate than the nose. The tropical flavors are certainly there. Pineapple, coconut, cooked agave sweetness, key limes and a sweet pepper finish with a pleasant tingle. This is a unique Reposado worth trying and stocking in your bar for sure.

Barrel 4, bottle 144 from OldTown. Nose is muted some from a jarrito glass but the flavor is very big and all over the place. After sipping it took a bit to be able to resolve some individual flavors from the initial big jumble. Nice viscosity and just a ton of fruit on the palate from the rum barrel influence leads to a quite long finish.

I got to try Barrel 2 and 5 now! Barrel 5–Tropical banana and gum on the nose kinda like juicy fruit gum. Flavors of banana, brown sugar, and barrel spice. It’s sweet with a little spice. Barrel 2–Caramelized bananas foster with a slight bitter chocolate. Both are similar with sweet tropical banana notes. I love how wild these are and truly appreciate the different profile just from barrel type. I’d rate both in the 86-ish range, +/- 1.

Yeyo Reposado Tequila, Single Barrel #2 (aka. Red Velvet), selected by the LA Tequila Club and Roadrunner Liquor Store. Aged in Colombian ex-rum barrels for just over 11 months. This tequila presents a cooked agave forward nose, with sweet nuances coming from the rum barrel influence; like sugar cane, molasses, caramel, white pepper, clove and nutmeg. The alcohol intake is very low and extremely pleasant, I really enjoy this profile aroma bouquet as it is something really different. The taste will start with a caramelized agave flavor complimented by nuances of brown sugar, tropical fruits of green banana, coconut cream, cinnamon and barrel spice, white pepper and some bitterness of cacao notes. The finish will leave velvety and silky sensation that just coats your mouth instantly leaving a very enjoyable long aftertaste. Great tequila addition for any aficionado Barrel #3 TMM Score: 85 Barrel #4 TMM Score: 86 Barrel #7 TMM Score: 83

Barrel No. 9 (Texas) let say I’m a huge fan of their blanco but I didn’t like the aroma for a rum barrel or the initial taste. I went back to the blanco in between letting it sit for a while and the blanco was great. This barrel was not my favorite.

$70 Bought at Specs in Houston Very light aroma. Surprisingly lacking. Smooth in the tongue yet not complex. Fruity flavors, banana, tastes a bit tropical Overall I’d drink again but not super impressed.

Cask 1, Bottle 202. Vanilla, oak and butter. Hint of banana. Top 2 reposados I’ve had (El Tesoro). Smooth finish without bite that Mijenta Repo has. Would highly recommend.

Lot 2 I liked better than Lot 3 Lot 2 slightly more fruit and a touch of white pepper on the nose, while lot 4 has a bit more herbaceous and a tint more scent of alcohol

Simply phenomenal flavor and aroma. The smell opens very sweet with fruits and tropical fruits and an initial blush of minerality. The longer it breathes the more a sweet and more cupcake smell comes out. It never feels fake and smells like the best cupcake you’ve ever had. The taste has an initial burn but then it opens up to very subtle agave, cupcake flavor with cocoa, chocolate, and cream soda almost. Vanilla is prominent but not overbearing. After some breathing and sips, the red velvet flavor comes out. The finish is long and just like continuing to eat a cupcake, like a red velvet cupcake. 96/100 Barrel 2/12 Bottle 154/240

Aged in a Rum Barrel # 2 A LA Tequila Club / Roadrunner exclusive. Named “ Red Velvet” for obvious reasons. This is a beautiful sipping tequila. A subtle nose that opens up. You can smell the cooked agave. The taste is an explosion of a variety of tropical flavors with a nice silky medium finish. I can see why they named this “Red Velvet”. A lovely Reposado. Each rum barrel will offer a unique experience. Looking forward to savoring other barrels
