Really nice reposado. It’s delicious. Packed with cooked agave sweetness, butterscotch, and cinnamon. A little bit one-dimensional, but that dimension is very well-done.

Nose: agave / sweetness / flowers /pear / berries / orange blossom Taste: cooked agave / pepper/ oak / earth / vanilla/ pineapple / pear / orange / honey /wood Finish: very clean quick finish / some bitter notes / fruit / floral Just like a Jaguar this expression leaps on you with aromas and tastes that let it taste well above its price point. Good value, yes….but this is more terrific juice coming out of NOM 1414 / Sergio Cruz.

Nose: cooked agave, light oak, hints of vanilla, get a zesty flavor as well hints of acidic fruits. Palate:Agave, oak, lime zest, vanilla, Finish: Def a great bottle wouldn’t be a go to bottle to purchase but I would entertain it once in awhile. Smooth no alcohol burn, the hints of oak and acidic flavors linger around a little.

cherry brown sugar and sweet agave on the nose. I get oak almond brown sugar and cinnamon on the finish. Vanilla seems to come through in waves. it's absolutely delightful sweet and rich but has a very light mouthful that I look for in a Repo. This might be one of my favorite repos!

This is a pleasant, very nice sipper with fruity, mild apple, citrus, vanilla, floral and oak barrel notes. This reposado is complex though balanced and each sip brings another layer of flavors. Some white pepper with a little heat which tapers after a couple sips. I admire that the distiller promotes jaguar conservation and uses recycled Mexican glass bottles and agave fiber labels. The repurposed cork stoppers occasionally leak . Overall, it's a wonderful tequila from NOM 1414 that builds on a great tasting blanco!

I love it just as much as the blanco from them. So smooth and really full of earthy agave flavor the oak flavor from the barrel isn’t too much it’s truly a beautiful product

Vanilla, oak, honey, salted caramel, hint of cinnamon, followed by white pepper. Not super complex. Good repo but not the best for its price.

vanilla forward nose gives way to cinnamon and cooked agave. On the palate. Cooked agave, butter, orange, and oak give way to black pepper with a long, sweet lingering finish of cinnamon and brine. this one is really good. I didn't love the blanco, but this reposado is absolutely delicious.

Nose is good with some tropical fruit and banana. On the palate some cane sugar and more light banana. Some light cinnamon. Not much for agave or vegetal flavors. I also find it to be a bit watery/thin. Could use higher alcohol content.

I had to take my time with this one. My first impression was not good with a huge whiff of ethanol. After a few minutes, I started getting a creamy butterscotch in addition to the agave. Strangely, it reminded me of the Haitian Rhum Barbancourt 15. Turns out that this tequila is aged in a similar style of barrel, and I'm guessing that's what brings the similar aromas. Of course, the rhum has a more intense aroma from the much longer contact with the wood. The taste provides a similar experience to the nose with the additional flavor of orange peel. It's quite nice. For someone who much prefers blancos to reposados, I am very pleased with this tequila. It's an excellent choice! Edit: I made a Oaxacan Old Fashioned, and the butterscotch flavor was even more pronounced.

I remember the day I first tasted this repo. I was visiting a liquor store in Texas and the owner asked if I wanted to taste it. Even out of a little plastic cup I knew right away this was one for me. I bought the bottle and here are my findings. The nose is bright and forward with cooked agave, vanilla and caramel. Some fruits were also discernible. On the palate we have a nice sweet presence of agave. Barrel influences bring vanilla and cinnamon and caramel. Other tastes I get are honey and baking spices. A very nice reposado that goes down easy and disappears too quickly.

Alma Del Jaguar Reposado ($55 USD) Overall: Solid reposado at a good price. Love the nose. Taste and finish are enjoyable, but take a slight step back from the nose. Nose: Love it. Cooked agave, toasted cane sugar sweetness, light carmel, and cinnamon with a classic toasted french barrel oak vanilla. The nose is elevated with apricot-melon or pineapple fruit notes. I get trace hints of orange blossom floralness and mint. Taste: A medium mouthfeel with a good balance of minerals, black pepper spice. Traditional reposado notes like baking spices, whiskey, caramel, and honey. I get a slight bitter Jalapeño note on the backend. Finish: The Jalapeño spice and slightly dry cinnamon notes play off each other for a solid finish.

The reposado gave me hints of Añejo, even Extra Añejo, but loved it.
