Aug 18, 2023 Tasted at monroe liquor store Anejo aged 14 mo. I liked this best of their line. sherry thing? was hard to get a good tasting because I tried a lot in a short period of time from those little tiny plastic tasting cups.

Good color with a bit of a strong sting. Pleasant but indistinguishable flavors that are like butterscotch and slight pepper. Good texture but unassuming flavor with little taste afterwards.

Good example of a solid, traditional añejo. Warm as soon as it hits your tongue, baking spices on the palate, and of particular note is a lingering hint of ripe blackberries on the finish. As of time of writing, about $40 USD for a bottle is a steal, for a quality añejo.

First time seeing this. No info here in Matchmaker. Label lists batch number, bottle count of batch and bottle “of” number. This bottle says batch 1 which would explain why it’s not in matchmaker. I am tasting this next to El Tesoro Anejo which is my current favorite. The color is darker, agave less prominent and oak more prominent so I suspect they may age it longer than El Tesoro. I’m actually a bourbon guy but love tequila. Wish I was better with tasting notes. This is almost as good as El Tesoro Anejo for $45 instead of $70. Looking online I can’t find much info. Went to the distillery website which said they specialize in “bulk tequila” and bottling your private label or even helping you develop your private label. They seem much more a tequila factory than a small batch artisanal distillery like El Tesoro. It is pretty good though.
