Lote 1 Bottle 1630/10,000 I know. I’m a little late to the party. But it was worth the wait to finally get the G4 Madera. Aromas: Freshly milled cedar sawdust. Finely ground white pepper. Mellow vanilla oil. Citrus. Light colored tree fruit. A slightly sour apple cider tartness. Tropical floral notes weave in and out. Flinty minerals, mint, cinnamon and cloves. Felipe’s signature abundance of sweet agave. Just a trace of lactic funk. Flavors: Thick and buttery. Briny. Oily sweetness softly washes over the tongue. A hint of maple. Vibrant clove, cinnamon and pepper heat build in intensity. The fruit, spice and texture embrace the ethanol, engaging the entire palate. Finish: This has a round richness that slowly melts away on the finish. August 26, 2023 A quick “compare and contrast”. Comparing G4 Madera Blanco lote #2 to lote #1 G4 Madera. Both bottles were opened within the last 48 hours. No one will be disappointed with lote #2. There are far more similarities than not. Some subtle differences at most… To me, Lote #2 has a little more sour apple cider note, a slightly sharper mineral snap in the nosing and a stray canned pear aroma. There might be a tinge more intensity in the heat component. A little less anise, swapped out for a tantalizing touch of salty butterscotch. The deep well water might be a little more prominent in lote #2. Which is my favorite? It would be like King Solomon ruling which baby should be cut in half. Can’t do it. I love them both. Both solidly in the 90 range.

Jan 3, 2023 tasted this before but just now rating it was really good straight out of the bottle and got even better as it opened up agave forward, some pepper, some heat, mint, nice long warm finish. I really enjoy the flavor profile from the wood fermentation tanks. absolutely delicious tequila, very well-balanced, just as a blanco should be.

G4 Blanco Fermentado en Madera is a special batch thats completely fermented in wood vats with fibers and it’s released at 45% ABV - 90 proof. This is a big deviation from Felipe’s usual fermentation in stainless steel tanks without fibers. These changes in fermentation will definitely change the final product. - On the nose the buttery cooked agave is dominant. The nose is creamy with a touch of spice. There’s some muted citrus and faint minerality. It’s not overly complicated but it’s very pleasant. - The palate resembles the nose. The buttery cooked agave is front and center. It’s creamy and spicy. The proof intensifies the flavors. The finish is spicy with lingering agave. There’s a pleasant earthiness that run throughout. This tequila begs you to take sip after sip! Saludcita!

Lots of agave on the nose and palate with a bit of heat and sweetness on the finish. Opens up nicely. Definitely like it better than regular G4. Love this stuff after opening. Absolutely tasty.

04/05/22 LEXP0001B45M Bottle No. 8173/10000 45% ABV Initial nasal impact is warming. Cooked agave, earth, mineral and cinnamon are at the forefront of the aroma, somewhat herbal (thyme) and citrus follow. Oily mouthfeel with generous alcohol (45%). Flavor of sweet cooked agave, anise, rain, pepper and some wintergreen. Cinnamon and an olive presence develop on further sips. Herbal and slight oak notes on the retro nasal. A very pleasantly long finish with a nice lingering pepper note. Fermented in Madera barrels with fibers, open air fermentation, 45% ABV. The Madera barrels and a hint of oak are noticed, but doesn't dominate, nor do I get any overly wine like character. It's another terrific experiment from the engineer Felipe Camarena

My go to vessel is a jarrito, best choice for high alc%. Lots of aromas full of flavor. Great as expected.

This is a unique G4 experience. Sure there's the usual G4 agave-forward and mineral laden nose and palate but this adds much more. I had to revisit this a few times during the last hour just to be sure of what I was working with and even used 2 different styles of glassware. N- Agave, citrus, mint, nutmeg, dusty earth, minerals. T- Baked agave, raw honey, black pepper, cinnamon, slight oak, more Minerality, earth, lactic acid, grass, and just a touch of ethanol but not much considering this is 45%. M- Oily and long legs left in the glass F- Medium-Long with a beautiful sweet and spicy finish with an underlying fruitiness. V- I had to have this shipped because I live in Michigan but it is such an interesting and well crafted liquid that it's worth every penny.

This is a special blanco from Felipe and 1579 lots of cooked agave, citrus, spice. High Proof, wood fermented makes this stand out from the regular G4 blanco

Soft, oily mouthfeel. Cooked agave, mint, black pepper, signature 1579 minerality. *chef's kiss* I'm glad I have backup bottles because this is a keeper and will be treasured in future years.

I mean, DAMN! Best new Blanco I’ve had recently. I’ll have to revisit and update my tasting notes when I grab a bottle, but for now I’ll just say that the aroma really pops, legs are long, and flavor is the best from El Pandillo so far. Amazing. Update: The nose on this is so good. I’m getting tons of agave with minerals, citrus, and a touch of anise…it just pulls you in. The higher proof makes an introduction on first sip with a nice zing and resulting finish. The same aromas come through on flavor, with a stronger anise presence and the introduction of cinnamon. I’m a big fan.

Tasted at El Pandillo along with Felipe and Oscar, best company ever. Production Notes: Fermented in wood tanks with agave fibers (bagazo) Organoleptic notes: Spiced up/baking spices: cinnamon, clove, anise, black pepper Citrus: candied orange peel Mineral/earthy: petrichor Herbal/fresh: mint, Cooked agave very prominent Pumpkin spice nuances

Aroma, agave, mint, very faint chlorine (not a badt thing). Flavor, agave, minerals, very light saltiness, minty and cinnamon. Does resemble the lot 12 but the higher proof punches up the flavors while not as much with the aromas. The higher proof does change character enough to distinguish it from a lot 12 relative and set it on its own. A slightly hot finish but the high proof never gets in the way up front or in the middle.

Slight sweetness on the nose. Cinnamon and cooked agave with a bubble gum aroma, but not artificial. Some earthiness and minerality. Hot on the pallet, slight fruity sweetness. Not a long finish but intense up front. Nice sipper!

Agave Spice bomb! Highly recommend to start judging this bottle after 1/4 (neck pours) are gone. Definitely has some extra heat but man it’s good full of agave and spice, black pepper. Sweet on the palette.

Purchased online for USD70. It's a great G4 blanco, similar to the standard, with the difference being that the agave was fermented in wooden vats and the final product was bottled at 45% ABV. Vivid agave and minerality notes on nose and palate. Some alcohol on palate and finish that is more noticeable than the 40% ABV blanco.

Bottle 1367 labeled LEXP0001B45M. A bit of mint on the nose along with a ton of agave and a small amount of ethanol in the HP Jarrito. Liquid roast agave and natural sweetness are carried by the 45% ABV. Wow!! is all I've got lol. Felipe has done it again. His family genius as passed down to he and his brother is unapproachable in this day and age of crap marketed as tequila. Added a point because it is just that good.

Agave on the nose . Nice oily buttery taste , followed by agave and minerality with a citrusy peppery finish . Good well made tequila , would only purchase at retail and revisit from time to time .

Can I say buttery and punch of agave from start to a long finish! This blanco was excellent still that citrus pepper and clean silky mouth feel you always get with G4. Now the price has gone way up from the first time I found it by accident. I think it was going for the same price as the regular blanco maybe $10 more. So back then it was a steal. $250 now or more. What's going on????

I prefer the lot 1 to lot 2...but it's close. The agave aroma is second only to Fortaleza Still Strength. Awesome tequila!
