On the nose, loads of agave and minerals, a bit of citrus and earthiness. On the palate, again loads of agave. Really the star of the show. Some lime rind, a bit “green” so to speak. Very earthy but not super distinct as in Montagave lot 3. Sweet, citrusy, and very easy to drink. I’m not sure what Chava is doing over there, but he’s figured out a way to make this delicious tequila go down like water. This is definitely “smooth”, probably one of the best 80 proof tequilas I’ve had.
Full bodied and a lot of flavor. Love the minty notes in this.
Vegetal and bright agave nose. Smells like signature 1123. Very easy sipper. Slight heat on the finish. A little flat.
Agave pepper jalapeño and tabaco
Chewing tobacco, agave, minerals, well water
This is good but doesn’t pack a punch. Extremely easy to drink. Loads of agave, pepper some citrus, minerality.
The new brand from NOM 1123 that is in its way to make a legacy and redefine the delightfulness of an artisanal tequila. Please see below our Blanco tasting review: Aroma: Bright and vivid that it leaps from the glass. Highly volatile vegetal and mineral notes that simmer into fruity and herbal aromatic notes. It’s a very fresh and crisp profile, that invites you to sip right away, just be careful as you may not stop… (we warned you!). Wow, this nose is absolutely stunning. Notes: raw agave, cucumber peel, limestone, melon, grilled pear, pineapple, bell pepper, tamarind, mint, key lime, and thyme. Flavors: Crisp, with a heavy lean on the agave essence notes which are complemented with minerality and herbal nuances. The mid-palate is kept clean and agave forward with slight hints of sweet mint, anise and lemongrass. Some slight notes of green fruits like pear, green apple and pineapple keep popping. The finish leads into a soft citrus and earthiness gradation with hints of cinnamon, clove and ginger. An enjoyable warmth of the spirit emanates quietly from the back of the palate. Very interesting. This Blanco is very enjoyable and the profile developed is suitable for beginners and connoisseurs. Notes: cooked agave, mineral, herbal, green fruits/apple, citrus, mandarin, black pepper, mint, anise, tamarind, cinnamon, clove and ginger
N- Agave, citrus, grass, herbal, a little briney minerality, white pepper T- Sweet baked agave, lemon, butter, mint, black pepper, anise, seeded jalapeno M- Thin yet silky. F- Medium in length but beautifully balanced V- my sample was free but judging by online prices this is a great value for a great blanco
Nose: sweet cooked agave, earthy, fresh cut grass, anise, fresh flowers, and Meyer lemon Flavor: cooked agave, pepper, citrus, anise, and light cocoa in the background Finish: long with sweet agave and some light pepper spice
Aroma, cooked agave, green pepper, faint cacao. Flavor, agave and light jalapeño followed by faint pine, soil, pepper, and sugar that lingers in the finish. Something a little different tasting about this one either due to process or the agaves that some have mentioned. A nice change of pace.
9/11/22 LEGADO NOM 1123 Off the bat... NOSE: Mint agave grassy minerality vegetal citrus. Then anise comes thru. As it sits, some floral comes thru Crisp nice mouth feel mint carries thru. Let it sit, lots of sweet cooked agave, anise, minerality. Very well balanced. a little pepper/heat on the back end. Hubby loves the natural clean crisp flavors. He says kinda like a tequila mojoto on a hot sunny day lol This is an easy sipper. Amazingly good tequila for a very reasonal price. I'll be purchasing more of this for sure I rated it 90 on TMM
Beautiful, sweet and floral nose with a hint of citrus. Minerality is noticeable and mouthfeel is terrific. Long, lovely, balanced finish. Pretty decent price for this quality, too. A top-flight blanco and another 1123 winner.
Aroma: Juicy agave, lemon, mint, and a touch floral Flavor: Sweet agave, pepper, minerals, anise, citrus Finish: light mouthfeel, with long legs and a nice medium finish. This has some earthiness and minerals while also being a bright and easy drinker. And the aroma is very inviting. It really strikes a nice balance for agave experts and tequila newbies. I’m going to enjoy killing this bottle!
I’m told that these agaves are from Michoacán. This information is not currently listed as such in the app. Nose: Green and black peppercorns, anise, cinnamon and lemon rind. Caramelized uber sweet agave. A hint of flowers. Crisp earth/mineral notes. Flavors: Sweet and silky, with a “pop” of pepper. Incredible natural sweetness. Hints of cherry. Sits pleasurably on the palate and may be dangerously easy to drink over the course of an evening. I wouldn’t characterize Legado as overly complex - but it has a very compelling sipping profile.
UPGRADED since my video review. The more I drink this, the more fall in love with it. I love Michoacan agave
Earth, cooked agave, herbal and jalapeño notes, with a nice oily mouthfeel. At the top of my glass I get light floral notes. Nicely done!
Love this blanco coming out of 1123. Simple delicious mouth feel, mid palate and long finish. Lots of sweet cooked agave notes, light white pepper, anis and mint. Very balanced. An enjoyable sipper
Nose is cool and sweet agave, fig sort of, little orange blossom and grass, Taste is agave, yum, little pine, bell pepper, lemon
Nose: Agave/Minerality/Black Pepper/Anise/Herbs/Hay/Floral/Vegetal Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and balanced. Flavor/ Finish: You get that signature minerality from cascahuin; petrochor and earthiness. Floral notes, herbal notes, and the finish you get are lacking the black pepper I'm used to; I'm definitely getting more anise and vegetal flavors. I actually tried the Still Strength first and am glad to have a deepened appreciation for the brand after giving the original a whirl.
One of my top blancos for sipping. El Gran Legado should be the gold standard for Blanco's and Repo's. It is a beautiful agave forward bomb. If you want to taste agave like it came out of the oven, this is it. It is really amazing. True expression of a agave forward tequila with beautiful barrel notes. On the nose... sweet AGAVE, minerals vegetal. On the pallet... it bursts with agave. No harsh ethanol . Beautiful agave. It it complex and full bodied from front to finish. Finish is long and amazing. Highly highly recommend.
Very good Blanco. I prefer aged. Looking forward to tasting them when available.
With Agave coming from Steve's wife's family, just over the border in Michoacan, this tequila shows a lovely fresh fruitiness seldom found in Jalisco. Loads of sweet cooked agave, mint, and anise. Vibrant and lively. Chava makes the best tequila in Mexico hands down.....
I love this Blanco. Unbelievably creamy mouth feel. Great agave, citrus, vegetal, and mint. It's a little pricey but absolutely wonderful. I will definitely support this new label and they are growing their own agave, so even better.
Nice tasting with a bit of 1123 magic. Good sweet agave fruit.

Nose: Smells like roasted peanut dried out shells. Black and white pepper jumps out of the glass. Soon followed by citrus which merges into lemon and lime. Cooked and raw agave come through with earthy tones. The more it opens up the more fruit and floral aromas come forward. Palate: Really nice silky mouth feel. Great viscosity. Mild vanilla on the front palate for just a moment. Agave, pepper, and spice hit next. Fruit then allows. Grape skins and mild tropical fruit. The finish is long and very nice. This is a damn good blanco! Really flavorful, complex and a great value.
