Really complex vs to regular XA. Price is a downfall. Bunch of dried fruit aromas and slight oak sensation Looking forward to do a side by side comparison to the upcoming 6 years.

I expected a lot more from this 5 year XA. Good for sure, but doesn't come close to the 55 month XA. Great nose. Agave, nutmeg, cinnamon, figs, etc. but fades rather fast considering the time spent in the barrel.

Give a slight edge to the 55 month. Which had lighter wood notes. This is complex but the price point makes it difficult to pick over other xa

I find this version to be a tad better than the regular XA but the uncrease in price does not justify it. I really prefer the 55 Meses version than this ine, the 55 is more complex.

Rich agave flavor paired with mild fruitiness and various baking spices. Great stuff, but not the best value.

It’s smooth and light for an XA with balanced flavors of agave, flowers, raspberry, oak, vanilla, and leather—a real treat!

45% ABV Aroma: Agave with light bourbon oak influence. Warm spice notes, citrus and citrus zest, vanilla, nutmeg and a spritz of minerals. Trace aroma of a cedar hope chest sachet. Flavor: Less oily than Cousin XA 55. A touch thin in the mouth. A slight bitter bite. But lots of fruity agave shines through. Pepper is a prominent player and has staying power. Spicier and more heat in the 5 Años profile. Finish: Packs a lip numbing punch, with a touch of astringency.

Ok so this is a 5 years especial Barrel for the TBC group. Smell: I get alcohol first then some peppers and some agave at the end. To be a 5 year and still some agave is great. Flavor : I get the suprising sweetness of the agave again with some burn but great kick. Overall another master piece of Felipe

This was a Tequila Barrel Collective barrel selection. It’s a G4 5 year Extra Anejo. I compared it to regular G4 3 year Extra Anejo. Felipe Camarena doesn’t ever disappoint. On the nose the 5 year is more buttery and has more vanilla but less cooked agave. When tasting the 5 year I taste slightly more oak and the other flavors seem to be deeper than the 3 year. The finish also seems slightly smoother. I like that Felipe utilizes older used barrels to age his tequila in. This allows more of the tequila notes to punch through that aging affect that the barrels have. The 3 year is an excellent choice but the 5 year is a treat! ¡Salud!

The aroma of the barrels overloads the familiar smell of the barrel room at Pandillo on this expression but it does not overwhelm the aroma of amazing tequila. I don’t favor aged tequilas but in the universe of tequilas that you would compare to this one, it’s a Winner and a solid Value.

Love the nose on this with vanilla, oak, caramel, and the taste doesn’t disappoint. However, I spent about $80 less on the standard G4 3-year XA, and I prefer the 3-year. Just seems to have a better balance. Both are very good.

Compared with Tears of Llorna and Rey Sol 10yr G4 - 5 anos: Very light color - urine of someone well hydrated Nose - light and delightful. Agave, vanilla, mild butterscotch Taste - butter and almonds. Mild tangerine. Agave still very bold and prevalent even after 5 years. Some distant hints of smoke even. Butterscotch though is overriding flavor next to the agave. Yum.
