Tasted at QDJ with Charlie. The aroma and taste are excellent! This one is hands-down a lot better than the Reposado. The aroma has that same butterscotch, caramel notes. The taste is where this one shines. There’s some really good heat pepper and still some cooked agave. The sweetness is mellow and not overpowering. The Finish is good, keeping some good heat in the back of the throat.

Dark coppery hue. Nose: Recently hewn oak. Very fruit forward. Fresh berries, melon and cherry. Dried “fruitcake” favorites: citron, cherries, apricots, figs, raisins and English walnuts. Cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. Flavor: Black pepper, leather and vanilla. Kicky spice. A touch of almond on the exit. A straight forward Añejo. Not a lengthy finish nor a super complex tequila - but solid nonetheless.

Aroma: Honey/Oak/Carmel/Vanilla/Clove/Cinnamon, not getting much agave, mostly barrel notes. Mouthfeel: light to moderate thickness. Flavor: On the palate, its oak and smoke. Finish: butterscotch, molases, black pepper I preferred the reposado over this. The barrel notes seem to completely mute the agave.

What a perfect Anejo. Craft and small batch tequila producer. Smoky and Oaky with a ton of agave bite. So well balanced in every way. And a great value compared to other Anejos.
