Carried locally by the Total Wine chain this 1110 product has a bit more appeal to me than the previously rated Reposado. I thought that had an odd finish that I attribute to additiives, likely glycerin. Meh, I mean the actual Batanga cocktail is made with mixto and stirred with a knife, so not expecting a great product for a namesake offering. It IS 100% agave and doesn't have as much coating of the tongue on the finish as the Reposado does. Natural sweetness and some vegetal and mineral notes.

The aroma is spot on, roasted agave all day. Classic flavour, this is straight old school, fucking LOVE that someone made a “new” product that profiles like this. Leaves all its best attributes behind on the finish, knows when to leave. Overall a really great tequila at a great price.

Sampled from brand rep shot glass. A basic inoffensive blanco. Cooked agave, grass, mint, citrus both on nose and palate. Some cinnamon and earth also on the palate. I was told by the rep no additives were used but it was a little too sweet for me. The finish was long with notes of mint and (too) sweet agave. It’d be fine to mix, I wouldn’t sip it though.

If you crave the sweet nectar of the gods, but Whole Foods is closed for Yom Kippur, I’d recommend this as a good stand-in. Sweet, peppery and smooth with a zippy finish - what more could a player ask for?

Nose is light, nice aromas of cooked agave. On the palette is a bit earthier but still focused on that roasted agave character. Finish is bright with a nice hint of citrus, an almost clay like flavour with the earthy roasted notes.
