I love this funky product. For me it's a 92 for this one aa well as the 10% (fibers version) made for Mexico only

Bottle #107 Lote 2/21 Nose: Sweaty, cheesy. Herbal: thyme, marjoram, oregano. Mint, cucumber and trace minerals. Sweet agave. Flavor: Honey like sweetness/texture attack, with equal measure of white pepper heat. Cinnamon and cloves contribute to the pop of pepper heat. The Mezcal like lactic note mellows somewhat on the palate - but still in the forefront. A vague umami cracker flavor : sesame or caraway? Finish: Cinnamon red hot candy and feisty pepper on the fadeaway, riding on a silky sweet agave wave.

Wow!!! This reminds me of Mezcal in aroma. That blue cheese aroma. Sounds weird but it’s the aroma I got. Earthy taste and peppery finish.

Moderate viscosity carries a ton of flavor in this Espirítu Fuerte. Agave on the nose, agave on the palate and a long lingering finish with a fading natural roast agave sweetness make this an exceptional sip. I've said this once before regarding Criollo that products like this are like drinking distilled liquid agave with a great balance of heat, sweet, ethanol and pepper.

This has so much more flavor than their regular Blanco with a nice mix of vegetal and citrus and pepper and minerals. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful tequila! The extra agave in the still brings that flavor front and center even though the still strength would suggest that alcohol would be forward. Happily this is a well balanced beverage that has a soft elegance I haven’t tasted anywhere else. We met the producers of this tequila and their sweet approach to life is reflected in their tequila.

Atanasio - Orígenes, blanco 46º LOT - B001/23 View: an almost transparent greenish. Oily tears, very slow, correspond to 46%. Freshly served: Aroma: very herbal, sweet, cooked agave, mineral, cilantro, copper. Taste: the flavor matches the herbal aroma, of cooked agave, with a first sweet and then bitter aftertaste. A very sweet and pleasant flavor, it stings the tongue a little due to the alcoholic content. I mix it and let it oxygenate for 20 minutes due to the alcoholic content. Aroma: it has practically not changed, but now I realize that I practically do not detect alcohol, which catches my attention a lot because of its 46 degrees. Taste: it opened up quite a bit, I wouldn't say they are different notes, just that now they are much more expressive, in the first sip I didn't detect copper in the flavor, only in aroma and now I do detect it. Without a doubt a great tequila, I decide to rate it with 88.

This is a very different style of tequila. It is more a Mezcal than a Tequila. The aroma is soooo funky, cheesy, sour, and berries. It evolves massively from lactose all the way to berries. I feel I am smelling strawberry and cream. The flavour is even better and in line with the aromas. The finish is good but more alcoholic and stays in your gums. It does have a dentist flavour at the end. The presence of cheese and berries is constant and comes back in your palate after a while. I do like it. It reminds me more of Mezcal Cenizo from Durango.

I recently had this and the one with fibers at the distillery. I think they are both delicious. It has really bright citrusy notes and nice earthy sweetness. I’m going to try them again side by side to compare. Overall a really nice blanco.

I have the limited edition bottle with 10% fermented with fibers that I bought at the distillery. Wow! This has it all. Rich, buttery mouthfeel, sweet cooked agave, pepper, citrus, lite anise, and just a touch of that 1599 funk! Hard to tell this is 46 ABV so be careful! The finish starts with some quickly fading heat followed by freshly cooked agave taste lingering.

This is tricky as I have two different LOTES (Feb 21+Feb 22) and they are totally different. For the sake of this rating will be for Feb 21. Clearly went malolactic during fermentation. Reminds me of one of Grovers LoteCito maybe Lote3? I have rated this so high because it is so unique. This WILL NOT be for everyone but those of us that drink tequila a lot this is a gem. Blue cheese on the nose big time. Not so much on the palate. Love this either as an experiment from Rene or an accident. Either way.

Compared lot 01/21 bottled on 27-03-2021 which has the blue/gray color on the middle of the front label with lot B0001/22 bottled sometime before July 2022 when I acquired it, which the color on the middle of front label is mint green color. Lot B0001/22, points are for this lot: Aroma: intense sweet cooked agave! Slightly minty, light celery, earthy, dried yellow corn husk, resinous sweetness. Palate: intense sweet cooked agave, very good sweet & sour balance, earthy, aromatic herbs, light green aspects, light floral notes, a touch citrus. Finish is medium to long, sweet cooked agave with citrus and aromatic herbs linger! Lot 01/21 (84 points): There is more mint, it has lactic notes that are slightly overpowering and is also more earthy compared to the lot above.
