Flavors are do not have a lot of depth but are fine. The real problem is the price as you can find as good or better at lower price points.
I’m rating this one on how I like it. Or how I dislike it. All barrel. No agave. If you are a whiskey drinker you should try this. I don’t detect any obvious additives but there are some strong barrel notes on the aroma and taste. The finish turns bitter which makes me think about possible manipulation bit it’s not overt.
Aroma is caramel and citrus. Flavor is oak and finish is agave forward I think the bottle design is cool. Nothing else is special about it. I would drink again but not buy
This was a last minute "it's in front of me so I might as well" kinda purchase. It was an excellent decision. I would say more on the smokey side than the sweet, but it mellows as it thins out while the ice melts and... now the bottle is gone and I'm late for work. So be warned or share with several friends.
Overall, this tasted like a decent whiskey. It did not taste like tequila. I got a lot of barrel notes and the smokiness from the char, with just a hint of sweetness. The flavor is complex and strong, with lots of oak.
Nose: Oak , butterscotch , vanilla , agave Taste : Sweet , charred oak , smoky , cherry , additive sweetness to it . Very consistent all the way through .
for value, I rated Herradra Legend an 8 "excellent." That rating is bases on the cost I paid of $115+tax at Total Wine and more. I have seen this as high as $200. Don't pay 200 for it. It's excellent at 130 or less.
Aroma - failrly pleasant t, light agave, fruit, vanilla, nuts Flavor - acrylic, almost like a bad sweetener, coffee Finish - wood, metallic Smells pleasant enough but doesn’t deliver
Aroma is great with cooked agave, vanilla and caramel. Flavor starts with cooked agave and then the black pepper hits on the back of the throat. Finish is a little hot from the alcohol and black pepper.
Very “bourbony”, the barrel notes remind me of Makers Mark. Price is definitely a detractor, might not buy another bottle, but I wouldn’t turn this down if it was offered.
Excellent flavor and so smooth.
it's a good tequila nice butter finish. little pricy at 115 bottle there are better options out there for the price not bad not great for the price.
This expression seems to be yet another tequila “Emperor’s New Clothes.” The nose was caramel and slight alcohol burn. Mid palate was the same caramel and alcohol burn and the body was so thin that I had to taste twice before I could taste anything past the heat. The finish faded almost instantly. I had such high hopes but was extremely disappointed. I paid $155 but live and learn I guess. I appreciated the experience but would never buy again.
smooth, delicious caramel undertones with hint of vanilla.
On the front palate, there’s definitely significant barrel influence; but something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is a specific note on the back palate/finish. The finish is where the agave shines and it’s taste like… THIN MINTS. Never experienced that note in a spirit, and to that. this anejo provides a unique experience that warrants praise.
love this Tequila. It similar to sipping excellent bourbon.
It smells of oak, vanilla butterscotch and alcohol. The taste is good, oaky with hints of vanilla and caramel. There’s a bit of a rasp/alcohol finish, but it’s not overpowering and finishes fairly smoothly.
Smoothe with some nice oak and caramel notes.
Just not for me. Too caramel-y. Doesn’t taste real.
Excellent sipper, beautiful amber color. No bite, finish lingers for a bit. A bit pricey but I prefer it to 1942. Superior packaging. Highly recommend it.
Very smooth finish. Lots of caramel and vanilla
Smoky aromas and sweet. Tastes really good, and finish a little bold but not lengthy
Minimal agave. Strong oak presence but there is a sweetness that seems like it is most likely additives. None the less, a great sipper. Flavors of pepper, tobacco and caramel. A small bite that you want in tequila but no burn. Vanilla, caramel and oak on the nose. Beautiful packaging.

tasted at nw liquors july 2024 wasn't bad, actually tasted decent. I want to revisit because I had a very small pour at the end of a tasting.
