Tasted out of a shot glass so nose was hard to judge. Pretty much vanilla and alcohol. Taste is sweet, maybe artificially. Barrel tastes of vanilla and caramel and oak. Getting some cinnamon and baking spices. Finish is rough. Alcohol and aftertastes of artificial sweeteners. I have had much worse tequila but I would not turn this down if offered a pour.

Nose: artificial vanilla/caramel/ hint of anise / very faint fruit aromas / hint of lime / artificial sweeteners/ alcohol Taste: artificial vanilla/ caramel / cinnamon / anise / dried fruit / banana/ hint of citrus/ artificial sweetener/ spearmint / molasses/ nutmeg/ baking spices / cream soda Finish: the finish is harsh and bitter/ linger artificially sweetened and artificial vanilla just keeps hanging on / light viscous mouthfeel. This anejo has an enjoyable nose but the artificial sweetener and vanilla just drop this tequila into a lower score.

Warming initial nasal impact with slight prickle (45% ABV). Aroma hits with dark cherry, dried fruit, barrel spice, cinnamon, oak, prune, caramel. Some trace of orange blossom. Buttery mouthfeel with sufficient alcohol. The dried fruit, prune, cherry and barrel spice hit first on the flavor followed by whiskey notes, oak, orange peel and caramel. The 45% ABV carry these flavors on a med long finish. The $120-130 price point isn't bad (these days) for a special release sherry finished anejo. Very enjoyable

Nose: nice sherry essence, fruity, clove, cinnamon, hints of agave, dried fruit, cherries, and light citrus. Flavor: sherry up front, barrel spices and barrel and fruit sweetness, oak, and leather, has a light oily mouth feel Finish: has some pepper spice to start, hints of chocolate, and finishes with some sweetness

Nose: Begins with a crisp sherry oak scent, delicate pink peppercorns, and sweet mellow barrel spice. Followed by warm vanilla and almond butter, dried fruit, nutmeg and tropical fruit aromas. Trace earthiness. Flavors: Robust white pepper, cinnamon oil, and perhaps some ethanol (this is bottled at 45% ABV), contribute to an intense heat that reaches a crescendo; then slowly recedes offering up subdued leather and cedar notes. Finishes with a bit of bitterness - but nothing excessive. I think the repo had the balancing act figured out.

Really nice aroma and flavor. Toasted oak, vanilla and dried fruit aromas. Slightly less complex than the Reposado. Flavor has some barrel spice and vanilla. Finish is naturally sweet and vanilla. There’s more oak here than I usually prefer, but this is a solid product that I know many fans of aged tequilas will love.

Love the scent, some banana along w/ the sweetness of honey. It was a little sweet for me but still good.

Sweet nose! Cherry, vanilla, oak, cream-soda, brown-sugar and buttercream. Nice deep-amber color in the glass. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet up-front, but natural and complex. Cooked-agave sweetness with some cherry-vanilla, dark chocolate, maple, brown sugar, barrel spice, cracked-pepper and nice cinnamon-spice bite followed by a long warm finish. Has a mild scotch-whiskey like profile, in a good way. :)

Sweet, spicy, smooth with a little burn.

From the nose it’s smells like oak and cherry with hints of dried fruit and chocolate, in the tongue it’s oak and chocolate very peppery with a lot of heat. Not a buttery oily finish like I expected , it’s a good product but it’s way overpriced.

This is a pretty unique one but I’m a fan. It is aged 18 months in ex bourbon barrels followed by an extra 5 months in single malt Sherry casks, which definitely gives it some unique tastes. I need to find the Reposado now! Cherry nose. Toasted oak, it’s 90 proof so definitely some heat but it doesn’t linger, feint agave sweetness and vanilla throughout.
