Solid tequila for a cristalino. I still smell some agave. It is sweet to the taste with a lot of body. Overall my only throw back is the price, it is a little too expensive for a Reposado Cristalino

This Cristalino is created using Partida’s Roble Fino Reposado which is made by using their La Familia Reposado that is then finished in the sherry casks for an additional 2 months. It’s naturally filtered using charcoal to remove the color. It’s bottled at 40% ABV - 80 proof. Their single malt sherry oak casks have been used for decades creating some of Scotland’s finest whiskies but now they are used to create Partida’s ultimate luxury sipping tequilas, Roble Fino. There is some slight color that remains. It’s has a very pale straw hue and it coats the glass nicely. The aromas are vibrant and has essence of red fruits with a sweet tannic quality. I’m being reminded of dry red wine while some cooked buttery agave and minerals appears on the tail end. There’s also some muted lemon zest and perfumed floral notes throughout. This is an additive free Cristalino, one of only a few known additive free Cristalinos. There are dense flavors that immediately appear. The wood notes from the double oak aging appear first. It’s dry and tannic with a slight alcohol presence. Some vegetal pepper and agave sweetness appear on the mid palate. The denseness of the wood notes and the pepper linger into the finish. The color is mostly gone but the flavors and aromas certainly aren’t. If you are looking to try a quality and flavorful Cristalino then this one is for you. Salud!

I’m not a fan of cristalinos, so this is more about me than this product. That said, there’s a slightly funky aroma to this that I’m not excited about. The oak and sherry cask notes present in the Reposado and Añejo version are gone. The flavor is simple and sweet. I’m sure there are people who will love this, but I’m much more interested in the non-clear versions.

Typical barrel notes but flavors are not overly strong and generally it is a little bitter.
