In the aroma, the presence of cooked agave is accompanied by inviting notes of light pineapple, cooked sweet potatoes, caramel, light honey, lime citrus, and a subtle hint of bourbon. The overall impression is one of softness, with no overpowering ethyl and barely discernible brine. Upon tasting, flavors of cooked agave and caramel take precedence, with subtle undertones of light brine and cooked sweet potato. Nuances of light sarsaparilla and orange with lime citrus contribute to the complexity of taste. Despite the barrel influence, the Blanco notes remain prominent, showcasing a balanced interplay of flavors. The finish is characterized by a light and refreshing departure, with subtle hints of whiskey tones, brine, salinity, and a touch of grassiness. The finish maintains the overall freshness and allure experienced throughout the tasting.
I get a butter pecan and peanut brittle nose on this. More sweet and savory than many reposados. Not a lot of barrel character here. Sweet cashews in the mouth. Shortish finish that’s a little disjointed. This might be more food friendly than cocktail friendly. Would be amazing with asian food, especially anything with peanuts.
Nose: very little agave, cinnamon, butterscotch, oak, clove, and vanilla Flavor: some cooked agave, cinnamon, sweetness, some bitterness, and vanilla Finish: hot and pepper
Nice nose, long finish, balance of alcohol, light wood, agave, and citrus. Mouth watering repo. A new favorite
Nose: following the blanco, pretty flat. Bit of oak, no agave present Taste: Toasted almonds, oak, vanilla. Very sweet Finish: Quick! Seems like some additives going on here w the vanilla. Maybe filtration, then flavor added? Regardless, it’s a thin mouthfeel and just too doctored up for me. Approachable for some, but not my cup of tea. Not enough agave & not complex. I’ll stick with more traditional products for my money
Lacks strong agave flavor, vanilla flavor is strong. This is a very good sipper although pricier than some of the Reposado's in this range.
Floral, super light honey sweetness, pure agave, very approachable, lovely lingering finish
Smooth
It tastes watered down. Caramel
Good all around, smooth finish is good.
With their Reposado, Solento keeps to the standard set with their blanco expression; Vanilla, fruity, citrus and other tropical notes. In addition to this flavor profile, no doubt in part to the double charred American oak barrel, the repo gains evident barrel influence. A bit of caramel, cinnamon, more vanilla, and nuts all while keeping cooked agave notes at the forefront of the palate which I appreciated. That being said, I was let down by the mouthfeel and finish. On the palate the texture was notably inviscid, leading to a short-lived uninspired finish.
Very subtle spice, smooth.
This is an additive free tequila! The Reposado was terrific
Light and watery. Good flavor but I’m betting there are additives in this one. Finish is quick and underwhelming.
I like my repos with lighter oak quality. Nose is pecans , vanilla , cinnamon Palate is about the same very little agave , cinnamon, honey , pecans
Solento Organic Reposado is a decent reposado, but falls shy of being outstanding ($66 @ Sip Tequila). Nose: Bright with a mild sweetness. Cooked agave is light, with toffee, citrus, and baking spices. Inviting. Taste: Medium to low viscosity and mild peppery heat. Cooked agave, cinnamon and black pepper withna strong under current of vanilla. Some bell pepper and earthiness on the back end. Finish: Short and dry. A bit disappointing.
$70, excellent aroma with a clean flavor, smooth on the tongue with a little smokiness.
Butterscotch, toffee, green apple nose.
Aroma - very mutes but light vanilla Flavor - butterscotch, cinnamon, bubble gum Finish - smooth, oily, vanilla
Underwhelming, will certainly try again and update accordingly. Agree with those who suggest notes of artificial sweetness. Notes of cinnamon & vanilla which are pleasant. Not getting much agave? Short finish for me as well.
Peppery and sweet aroma. Very rounded mouth feel. Goes down easy. Peppery and caramel flavor. Organic is a big part of their messaging but I suspect additives? Falls between a Fortaleza and a Clase Azul.
I find it a little alcohol strong on the finish but very nice in the front.
Nice anise/cinnamon spice to the taste
Fantastic. Nice agave slight taste of vanilla and cinnamon
