This tequila offers an excessively sweet profile dominated by artificial vanilla, maple & unbalanced oak notes, deviating from the nuanced balance expected in quality spirits. The overwhelming sweetness masks the authentic agave character, resulting in a taste that feels more manufactured than genuinely enjoyable.

I honestly don’t taste a huge departure from the repo, it’s sweet oak, modern style.

Just like the XA it’s sweet but not as sweet, still zero tequila taste in this for me. Tastes like a mid grade rum

I had this at the distillery, so given that, I can’t comment on the retail price. This añejo is crushed with a roller mill, twice distilled in stainless and aged in French cognac barrels for 2 years. It was 35% ABV, and im not certain of the cooking method (they have a horno and an autoclave there). This aging process gave it a very dark color. On the nose: Barrel. Heavy oak. Caramel, burned butter, brown sugar, orange zest and cinnamon. Palate: cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel. To me, it tasted like creme brûlée with a chocolate-covered coffee bean on top. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t for me. I kept waiting for something to happen and it didn’t.

Very sweet to the nose, heavy caramel notes. Bright and light mouth feel, Carmel and buttery. Long and strong finish

So smooth and silky. Loved the smell right down to the finish. Vanilla, but like the warmth of a hot butter rum but so much better. I need to find more.
