Every year, Suerte Tequila releases a special-edition extra añejo tequila. In 2018, that comes in the form of Lucky Lips, a tequila that’s been aged for eight years.
On the nose, very potent caramel and nuts, pecan or walnuts, some pecan definitely. Very reminiscent of pecan pie for me. A little bit of whiskey, and some agave but very little. On the palate, I’m definitely getting that caramel, and honey, but a nice hint of red apple. The oak is surprisingly not overpowering for an 8yr XA. Very nutty and toffee sweet, delicious. For $109.99 on their website, this is a great value XA. The finish is long and nutty, so good. Almost right there with Tapatio Excelencia for me.
