Aroma : Lots of vanilla and and caramel, not much agave to speak of. Some oak and cinnamon. Taste : Vanilla and caramel. That's about it. It's sooooo sweet and thick, and not in a good way. There is no agave, and no complex character to speak of. Finish : Short with many of the flavors mentioned previously, nothing new. It's obvious that additives play a huge part in this. It tastes like someone made an añejo and put a bunch of Splenda in it.

Pancake syrup, literally. Damn you Costco. The ceramic bottle is beautiful and I knew what was inside. Sweet doesn't begin to describe it though. Thick and cloying just won't do.

Sweet - Dessert - sipper Almond/Amaretto forward Purists to tequila will turn nose up due to excessive sweetness & flavor, but delicious for masses

Undrinkable for me... Too suspiciously and artificially sweet.

If there ever was a desert tequila category, this one would define it. Super sweet, so beware.

Girlfriend bought this for me because she liked the look of the bottle, I really liked what was inside. This tequila helped steer me back to Tequila after being side tracked by whiskey and Scotch.

Honestly... I bought it for the bottle. Ok... then i drank a bit. While a little sweet, it’ll balance out the rest of my cupboard against stronger, some bitter, a bunch with a bite tequilas. I love all of my tequilas!!! Don’s 1942 being “pretty good”, but not as good as the Tres Generaciones Anejo (super reasonably price). Also not as good as my/the Fortaleza Anejo or reposado. That said... finally a sweet flavor profile that I’ll surely enjoy every so often.

I love this! Yes it's a sweet heavy vanilla caramel butterscotch delight with hints of agave oak and cinnamon but I love that. So yummy. If that's not your thing then maybe this isn't fo you. I enjoy smelling the aromas just as much as the flavors. Incredible if you like a yummy candy desert like tequila.

on the nose it's a very sweet and floral tequila with hints of vanilla, caramel and oak. a great sipping tequila. the flavor matches the nose with a hint of pepper very smooth and drinkable. I found this on sale at Costco and would take it over the higher prices Don Julio 1942. best value buy

I agree with many of you on the spicy tones. It has a sweet bite that lingers and an aroma that I can remember. Wonderful tequila in a beautiful bottle!!

Move over grand Mayan! I’ll m loving this bottle of Dos Artes gran reserva. Yes it is sweet like most reviewers mentioned but not too sweet. Right from the start there is zero burn or harshness. Smooth as the day is long. Vanilla Carmel flavors but still has the agave we all love. I can see why some feel it is overpowered but I think it’s a well balanced blend. 89$ puts it on the higher priced scale but if your buying 1942 don julio it’s still cheaper and better in my opinion. If the ratings included packaging this would have been a 98 rating. The bottle will look nice in my collection.

Kinda surprised it hasn’t gotten better ratings by others. Then again I am a total newb to good tequila. I drink it neat and like the cinnamon and spice flavor. It has a sweetness that reminds me of a light bourbon.

Very Sweet, but the burnt sugar and vanilla flavors balance very well with the baked agave. Not the classic tequila agave flavors, but what an incredible after dinner drink for dessert.

Very good. Sweeter side, but the Agave and Oaky-ness balances perfectly. Bang for the buck for a whole 1 Ltr.

I like the smoothness in the finish but it’s a little on the Sweetside for me.
