Mexican release. Bottled at the curious ABV of 36.4%. Nose: Agave, pear, mineral note, black pepper and some spiciness with a trace of vanilla cream. Flavor: There is more spice and pepper punch than the somewhat timid aromas had promised. Hot cinnamon, tingly pepper, some salinity and a suggestion of vanilla wafer cookies. Agave does not get lost in the shuffle. Finishes with a tiny bitter aftertaste, but rests nicely in your mouth for the finish.

There’s some cooked agave and olive in the flavor. Some minerals in the aroma and flavor. I like the finish, medium length and leaves agave on my palate.

Mineral , herbal aromas and flavor with rustic finish. Not my personal preference, but good for others who enjoy a masculine, earthy blanco.

The blanco has more mineral and citrus presence than the lunar rested blanco. This is how I normally like my blanco, more rustic and not as smooth. It had aromas of spice, herbs, pepper, vanilla, light smoke and nice anise and citrus. This had a really good nose. The Taste was spicy and herbal with a mild burn and some olive brine and citrus. I liked it.

Nose is mild cooked agave. Brine and vegetal. Taste. Sweet maple water cook agave. Hint of green and white pepper rose hips Finish is mild with very little pepper or heat. This one is not uncomplicated but rather easy to drink. Hard not to let price influence the rating.

5th Day: Lot 4 Bottle Date: 8/11/18 The aroma of agave is center stage with brine, pepper, and a sweet funk that makes me think of yeast twirling behind. Upon taste: Sweet and tangy notes of raspberry, pineapple, grassy, soft sweet bread/bannna and pepper, pepper and some more pepper, but does not burn the chest, more of a heat that clings to the tongue. The dry down is warm, sweet and fresh.

Really pleasing cooked agave aromas. A worthy expression of the valley and characteristic of the distillery where it is produced.

Crystaline clear, long, clear legs that persist. Vegetal, herbal, soft grassy with a touch of (white) pepper with some (black) bite, sharpness or zing to back of throat and going down. Decent aftertaste of reasonable duration.
