NOM 1588 | Good citrus notes, light sweetness, slight heat. Nice mouth feel. Fairly priced. Well made Reposado.

NOM 1588 | Nose: Ripe red fruit notes. Cinnamon and faint vanilla - a warm roundness to the aroma. Orange zest and a bourbon note. Flavor: Buttery vanilla and lots of fruit. Some pepper kick. Complementary baking/barrel spices. Some oak.

I love this Repo. One of my top Reposados .Very nice buttery aroma and agave floral smell and taste. On the pallet.. bright agave, floral, citrus, fruit and caramel. Nice barrel presence, but not overpowering. Beautiful packaging presentation. I have many of the best Repo's and I always go back to Mala Vida. To my pallet, it beats out many other top Repo's .At least to my pallet. It has no harsh ethanol on the nose or pallet. Very nice smell, pallet and flavor.Well rounded. Welcome change from most Repos out there. Surprisingly complex. Finish is medium. It is very well done. I think people score this a little low for the price and and the quality of this tequila. I see people score this low, but score mediocre tequilas higher. Ridiculous. This tequila is 85 or higher, depending on your pallet. For me, it's an 89 or higher. I highly recommend this Repo. Your finished glass never lies. Always smell your dried up glass. It will reveal the real complexity and work that went into your tequilaI. Always try a really good Blanco and move to Repo and Anejo. It will create an excellent tasting experience. I will definitely purchase again. Highly highly recommend.

Aroma: On the nose, you are met with traditional aromas of Sweet Cooked Agave, Oak, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Caramel. All mingle here like many other aged tequilas. Where you start to get some differences are there is a very nice, sweet cherry note, reminiscent of some sweeter scented bourbons. There's a raisin/prune note that comes through as well. The longer it sat, the more I could pick out a light, sweet clover honey aroma. One note that resonated with me was a dried tobacco scent that only someone who was raised in an area where it was hung to dry would know. Taste: On the initial first sip, you are greeted with the mixing of cinnamon/baking spices with black pepper. This pour had the sweet agave flavor follow the Oak and Vanilla taste that are ever so present in darker aged products. The agave was present, but not the star. The Cherry note detected in the aroma was certainly present in the taste! It does give a little reminder of a bourbon in flavor. I could also pick up the caramel and butterscotch tastes, letting me know that this did age in used whiskey barrels. Finish: The finish was medium in length, and the Cinnamon/Pepper, Oakiness, and Caramel takes it to the end of the journey! Salud!!! TMM 85

Great design with a nice cork. Smooth tequila with a hint of pepper. Easy to drink. Not sure about the price.
