NOM 1477, Mexican 40% abv. versión, lote: L PH8900423, bottled on 28-09-2023, tasted on 5-25-24.
Color: cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, light acidity, light citrus, agave fibers, this tequila reminds me of the Raygoza reposado also from NOM 1477, as time goes by aromas dissipate and becomes sweeter, sweetness is unnatural & syrupy.
Palate: confirms aromas perceived, unnatural sweetness is quite intense on the palate, and dominates.
Finish is medium, hint of cooked agave, light agave fiber and syrupy cloying sweetness persists.

Don Cayo Reposado is a fair priced ($49 @ Sip Tequila) tequila aimed at those who prefer overly sweet expressions. I can see sipping this as an after supper drink with desert. I prefer this to the blanco and it is quite enjoyable.

At a tasting session in Cabo I chose this Reposado over the same line's Anejo. I liked both but this one better preserves the background flavor of agave, which blends favorably with the lingering hint of cinnamon from start to finish. The aftertaste of sweet spicy cinnamon is very refreshing. But don't take these write ups too seriously. Just drink and relax.
