Mexican 38% ABV. Lote B009 Nose: Spice, herbs, fruit and nuts - tinged with a pine, acid like aroma. Juicy fruit gum. Flavor: Sweet and peppery. Green agave notes. Pepper heat mingling with cinnamon red hots. A touch of bitterness. Finish: Anise and a dash of salt emerge to join the omnipresent pepper heat. Medium short in duration. This tequila picks up points on value. Very affordable offering.

LOT: LGPB009 View: Totally transparent. Acceptable tear adhesion. Aroma: very pleasant, cooked agave, mineral and alcoholic, molasses, a little like fermented pineapple. Unfortunately it opens towards column distillation. Flavor: light and pleasent, the fermented pineapple it’s there and so are the molasses. But it just screams column distillation. Aftertaste: bitter and herbal, well balanced.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: LGPB014, bottled on 01-07-2024, tasted on 8-25-24. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light resinous sweetness, hint of anise, light aromatic green vegetal notes, light fruitiness, hint of earthiness, reminds me of Cascahuin. Hint of sprite, hint of lemon. A whiff of red package cheese nacho Doritos! Palate: confirms aromas perceived, slightly sour, good sweet & sour balance, hint of floral aroma through my retronasal. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave with light sweetness, slightly sour, hint of green vegetal note with light fruitiness persists.

In a margarita, this tequila brings a freshness. The greenness of the agave comes to life, similar the the freshness of a mojito. On its own the black pepper flavors are there but not over powering. And subtler hints of the chlorophyll from the agave.
