NOM 1649
|
Mexican 40% abv. versión, lote: LTDCB120124, bottled on 20-01-2024, tasted on 6-10-24.
I tasted this tequila the same day as the same NOM 1649 Raygoza ancestral, this tequila has more sourness which from my impression appears to be more like the ancestral than the ancestral!
Aromas: acidity, sourness, light cooked agave, light citrus, light lemon, hint of earthiness, light green vegetal notes, after 30 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes sweeter and the acidic and sour notes are softer.
Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet, sour, acidic and citrus balance, it becomes more aromatic and tastier as time goes by.
Finish is medium to medium long, cooked agave with balanced sweet, sour, acidic and citrus notes, light aromatic green vegetal notes with a hint of earthiness persists.

Don Cayo Blanco is a affordable ($39 @ Sip Tequila) aimed at those who prefer overly sweet Tequila. I can see sipping this as an after supper drink with desert. It's not my cup of tea.

Fresh agave on the nose. Cooked agave, citrus, vanilla and green pepper in the mouth. White pepper, grass and cinnamon on the finish.
