NOM 1588 | Aroma: Cooked agave, butter, caramel oak, grapes (wine), citrus and butterscotch. Flavor: Cooked agave, bitter, caramel, citrus, mint, and a little musty. I would recommend this as it’s an affordability priced additive free brand with lots of great smells and flavors, oaky but not woody and none of the flavors are too intense.
NOM 1588 | Beautiful nose. Cooked agave caramel and vanilla. I get a little oak from the barrel. Taste is good but nothing special. It is oak heavy with agave and black pepper I am getting caramel and if you like whiskey this may be for you
Quality repo pour. Vanilla, clove, pepper with orange zest and a hint of oak and Carmel on the back end. Elements of whiskey barrel influence and fruit. I enjoyed this pour a lot. A brand that I did not know much about until trying this tequila. Fantastic sipper which I am eager to explore deeper.
The aroma presents a tantalizing bouquet of minerality, caramel, and butterscotch. Prominent ethyl notes are interwoven with hints of orange citrus, oak, prune, cider, light anise, and a subtle whiskey tone. On the palate, the initial encounter is with rich oak and vibrant orange citrus, followed by hints of pear and cooked agave. The flavors of lightly cooked sweet potato, yellow apple, and mint blend seamlessly with light pepperiness and a faint tobacco note, all rounded off by a delicate whiskey or scotch tone. The finish reveals a persistent minerality and refreshing nuance, with a subtle trace of alcohol, fading caramel, and a warm chest feel. A lingering spice delicately dances on the tongue, before fading ultimately.
Olive Brine! Butter, Salt, Olive, on nose, and on pallet, very silky, same notes, not my typical liking, but very delicious.
NOM 1588 | Tasted at QDJ with Charlie. The aroma is a little strong, with definite barrel, notes even a little whiskey-ish. After letting it sit for a few more minutes, some sweet, butterscotch notes come out The taste is OK but a little thin. It feels like it leaves very quickly. Same for the finish. From aroma to finish everything is good, nothing objectionable.
NOM 1588 | El Mexicano Repo is probably my new favorite Repo … wow… cooked agave with fruitiness, some slight woodiness with vanilla caramel or butterscotch minerality on the end just delicious
small sample vanilla, barrel notes, mild and easy sipper.
Very whiskey forward for a Reposado. Great transition for whiskey lovers. Barrel spice, oak, oily (buttery). Nice bitter long finish.
NOM 1588 | Agave-forward repo with a very present whiskey taste on the palette, which I didn’t pick up as heavily in the aroma. Also subtle spice, oak, caramel and vanilla.
I haven't seen this anywhere in town, and then I found it at Duty Free at our small airport. Aroma of cooked agave, vanilla and oak. Flavor of agave, black pepper and barrel spice. Medium finish.
NOM 1588 | NOM1588 - Tequilas El Mexicano Hecho en Arandas Jalisco I smell some cooked agave and some dusty dry oak. There’s some dried orange citrus and white pepper. It’s a light nose but clean. I taste sweet buttery cooked agave, spicy red pepper flakes and barrel influence from the American white oak. The French oak influence comes on the finish. It’s sweet and spicy but not overwhelming. There’s a medium finish with a lingering spiciness. This is a well made Reposado that has a lot of character without being overwhelming. Salud!
NOM 1588 | Wood comes through on the nose with agave. Pallet is very easy to sip, minimal heat. Very surprising. light and clean
NOM 1588 | Nose: Cinnamon and spice, white pepper, caramel, citrus, minerals and oak. Flavors: Prominent barrel spice. Nutmeg, clove cinnamon and pepper. Light colored tree fruit, and agave. A hint of butterscotch. In the mouth I get alternating sensations of creaminess, then roughness around the edges. Finish: A tad of bitterness on the finish, but with some nice fruit and caramel. Mexican release at 38% ABV, at a cost of $300 pesos. Picked up a point on value.
NOM 1588 | Bargain priced tequila. It has more wood than I usually like for a Reposado. I bet whiskey drinkers will like this.
NOM 1588 | Not as nice as the blanco. Whisky aroma and flavor that is pungent, not softened. Did they use too newish oak whiskey barrels?
NOM 1588 | Bottle: N/A, sampled during Tequila Matchmaker’s Tequila School Panel Training Appearance: Cream yellow Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon, barrel spice, oak, walnut, caramel, herbal, mint, anise, baking spice, minerality, wet cement, fruity, peach, citrus, whisky, butter, and alcohol…pleasant, but restrained Palate: Cooked agave, butter, cinnamon, oak, whiskey, barrel spice, vanilla, almond, walnut, roasted nuts, tobacco, leather, black pepper, minerality, limestone, herbal, baking spice, clove, anise, and raisin…heavy barrel influence for a reposado, but very enjoyable Finish: Cinnamon, oak, vanilla, barrel spice, leather, jalapeño, and tobacco…short finish with prominent barrel notes and a thin-to-medium mouthfeel Overall: I was really surprised by just how much barrel influence was achieved with this reposado. The nose was nice, but not mind-blowing in terms of presence. However, the palate really hit some savory notes and felt like it would be at home in a library with many leather-bound books. I would be more than happy to drink this again.
NOM 1588 | Sweet agave with citrus aroma. On the palate cooked agave, oak, caramel. Unique flavor profile like no others. Very enjoyable to sip.
NOM 1588 | I’m not a seasoned professional, but this smells very light with a mineral effect. It’s clean enough that i think i can smell the agave. The taste is much like others report… caramel, and silky with a pepper finish. I suppose this could be a whiskey crossover, but it doesn’t quite fit the profile for me. It’s straight tequila in my estimation.. and of course that’s perfect It’s delicious, and inexpensive, clean and smooth. I definitely recommend it in value alone.
Nose- Cooked agave, caramel, oak butterscotch, alcohol Taste- agave, butter, chocolate, vanilla Finish - cooked agave, butter faint pepper
NOM 1588 | An interesting tequila with almond notes in the nose and a natural sweet flavor. Some Morita hint finishing on the dryer side with a nice long finish.
NOM 1588: Great Reposado tequila that drinks like an Anejo. Aroma Has hints of agaveOak, wood. Has the taste of cooked agave, oak, caramel and vanilla. Very barrel influenced here like a whiskey with agave. Great bargain tequila.
scents of cooked agave, vanilla and a bit of whiskey. Flavor is oaky, buttery and a hint of pepper. smooth finishes, a small amount of heat.
This one is a bit light on both the around and taste. On the nose I get agave, a buttery popcorn thing, oak, barrel spices and oranges. The palate is very similar with more vanilla and black pepper than what was noticeable on the aroma. Overall I enjoyed it as a light sipper, and there was a decent amount of agave for a repo.

Nose: agave/ caramel / oak / butter/ coconut/ herbal/ tea / nutmeg/ chocolate/ almond Taste: cooked agave / pepper/ sweet vanilla/ caramel/ banana/ orange peel/ mint / nutmeg/ maple / chocolate/ alcohol Finish: heavy pepper and alcohol on first part of taste, with a bittersweet earthy non-viscous mouthfeel. This reposado has some heavy bittersweet and spicy pepper end and a lingering alcohol and peppery finish. The tastes it has don’t work great together, but they are also only fighting for individual attention, which takes away balance.
