Tequila Herradura's Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2014 is reposado indulged: tequila that has matured in charred American oak then rested in single malt scotch casks.
Such promise off the nose, even with a swirl the vapours are rich and bold and have me dying to try what’s inside. This start out on the tip of my tongue with a familiar tequila taste but then takes an abrupt and violent turn to boozy fruit, if it was subtle it would be a masterpiece but it’s just too aggressive for me. Marks a decent recovery on the finish but doesn’t leave my craving my next sip, this is my least favourite of these expressions so far.
