Strong licorice flavor and Wood notes. Let it breathe and it gets better.
Sweet
This one is definitely an outlier in the world of Extra Anejo. Heavy, resinous, pine tree scent like a car air freshener. Aromas dominated by licorice, anise, and tarragon. It reminds me of Sambuca minus the three coffee beans. Good thing I LOVE black jelly beans. There is also pronounced Damiana character to it. Overall, I really like this one for its uniqueness and complexity. I will definitely keep it in the line up. If Tequila and Sambuca had a love child - this would be it!
Different bottle but excellent. Priced around $70. Carmel, Vanilla, and fruit flavor. Great on the nose.
Aroma is all barrel and no agave. Taste is unusual and sweet, once again heavy wood with strong prune. Finish has a little bite with cough syrup aftertaste. Seems more like cognac than tequila.
pepper and cherry aroma! awsome flavour and finish. able to feel aged feeling well.
Just a phenomenal bottle. It's particularly good for people coming from fine whiskeys, but everyone seemed to love it. The agave is certainly evident, but also not too strong. Definitely one of my favorite sipping tequilas, and it goes fantastically with a light bodied cigar as well.
This is an amazing concoction has a somewhat sweet smell and brings to mind vanilla and caramel. Meant to be sipped, preferably in a small snifter, on its own. Perfect for after dinner or just relaxing with good friends. The price is excellent for the quality you’re getting. My current go-to affordable tequila - yum!
I love tequila, On my list it has always been Patron, Don Julio Reposado and 1942 until I tried Chula Parranda for the first time on April, 2018 in Guadalajara Mexico. It is the best tequila I've ever had! It is my Top and Only choice of tequila! In my opinion, it is priced very low for the amazing quality and care they put into their making of tequila and their bottles! "Thank You for creating this Amazing Tequila, CHULA PARRANDA!"
Very good value, with strong grass and caramel flavor taste. I love it.
The vanilla and caramel taste is exceptional. Wonderful product.
Complex flavor very good aroma.
I am Always going to get this brand.
there is an interesting peppery under tone that gives way to an incredibly sweet finish that ruins what might be a good Tequila. bought this on a recent trip to MX wish i hadn't. I'll let it sit, see if the sweetness subsides if not I'll see if i can make interesting drinks out of it or drop it in the trash update: I've tried this tequila on 4 different occasions and like it less each time i drink it. i eventually poured it down the sink. it is the worst tequila I've ever put in my mouth... I'd drink Jose Cuervo mixto before this monstrousity
What a great tasting and sipping Tequila. Love the Vanilla and Caramel taste and it goes great with a nice Cigar. Is not too sweet and it leaves a great taste in my mouth.
Maybe this was a bad lot, but I felt this was way too sweet. It seemed to overpower all other flavours. Will definitely re-assess when I have another taste of this.
Sweet, slight burn finish
I LOVE this tequila. It is slightly smoky, hints of caramel and barrel with a touch of sweet. Not Cava de oro sweet, but just a perfect balance. It is my favorite right now and hard to get. First tried in Cabo and no one carries it in AZ or CA so I had to have it shipped in.
Aged in whiskey barrel, not to strong
Complex, very different from other extra anejo's. Will keep in collection.
Amazing aroma and a middle and end to top. Complex flavors from the wood barrel.

One of three bottles I own. Dark in color almost cola like with faint plum and copper tints. Very odd aroma of burnt gas/tar. A hint of raisin with little agave. Entry is similar to the nose, but quickly turns to cedar chest like flavor. Once opened up, the cedar is followed by a moderate smoke. Very complex and not as sweet as others have noted, at least in this barrel. Very different than other XAs. Not great, but not bad. Hope my other bottles are better. C
