Just like the Blanco, not a ton of agave going on, this tequila has almost completely taken on the personality of the barrel it was resting in. Pleasant enough, not elite.
I didn’t much like their blanco, but wanted to give the other expressions a shot. Creamy agave nose, with citrus, vanilla and a hint of pine needles. Some fresh oak as well. A bit of butterscotch tease. Nutty creamy agave flavors with some mild heat, baking spices, and a touch of bitters. Finishes nicely and far better than the blanco. However, there is a slight astringency going on.
Great aroma here. I also like the flavor. Both have some agave, but more vanilla, cinnamon, herbal, black licorice/anise. It’s the finish I don’t really enjoy. A little rough and choppy. I liked this much more than the Tierra Noble Blanco.
Caramel and cream soda nose with thick mouthfeel cover up for the defect in the back that was much more present in the blanco. Finish of varnish.
caramel/butterscotch smooth finish
Butter scotch
Butterscotch, Carmel, sweet
Agave forward scent,
Lots a lot of points due to being WAY overpriced where I am ($105 CAD). If this was around $40-50 I would like much more. Agave and a lot of vegetal/earth on the nose and even more on the palate. Finish is sharp and the alcohol lingers too long, but the flavours afterwards are sweet and soft. A well made tequila, which I can appreciate, just not the flavour profile that I prefer. Edit* after opening up for about a week the flavours have changed - more caramel on the nose and palate, sweet finish with far less burn than before. Enjoying it much more now, although still very overpriced.
This is a more earthy tequila which I prefer. Mineral is prominent on the nose and finish, peppery, but never outshines the agave. The agave flavor is more cooked than green and mates well with the earthy profile. Picked up some faint unsweet cantaloupe on the mid palate. At $32 regular and on sale for $27, is a great bottle.
Agave Cinnamon Clove Barrel really shows Clean finish
cooked agave, butterscotch hit first on aroma, with vanilla and cinnamon following, some citrus is there too. flavor is sweet cooked agave and butterscotch. warming in mouth with licorice surrounding the tongue afterwards. medium finish. much nicer than the blanco, especially at a low $30 price point. the wax (aka plastic) covering cork is annoying. synthetic cork though is excellent
I found this in a mom & pop store in south Tucson. Aroma is effervescent cooked agave, fruit and cedar. The taste hits you with alcohol, carmel and citrus. The best part is that it has a long finish with vanilla, butterscotch and licorice.
Smooth vanilla, agave
Lacks complexity and flavor. Somewhat smooth, with agave and pepper finish. Not much caramel or vanilla taste. It gets better the more you drink it.
very good tequila, but not my favourite flavours
Alcohol forward Creamy Caramel Cooked agave on the nose
The first sip of this tequila has a heavy alcohol finish that fades quickly. After that it’s very smooth. Lots of agave and caramel. I little thin mouthfeel. It reminded me of Don Julio Repo for $15 less. For the money this is an excellent value and one that I would expect to increase in price.
This stuff is classy all around. Possibly the most easy to drink tequila I've ever had. However that comes at the cost of a little boredom. Its very mild in its complexities. I would absolutely recommend serving this to that friend who says ewww gross when you mention tequila.
Suave y sabor a roble
Kind of buttery on the tongue.
Finish is the winner here. The aroma is somewhat weak although not at all unpleasant. Flavour is ok, but is a little too peppery to me without enough agave to compensate. The finish is nice and long with a lingering warmth that I quite enjoyed. In my opinion this one doesn’t hold a candle to the Anejo and I don’t believe I will repurchase.
$15 for 1oz, $7.50 happy hour

This was a good repo, but didn’t blow me away. On the nose was waffles and maple syrup and butter. Palate was sweet cooked agave, vanilla, butter and caramel. Shallow and short finish. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, I was just expecting something more complex.
