NOM 1416- A unique and out of the ordinary tequila. Strong aromas of agave, pepper, citrus, vanilla, cream soda, and alcohol. Flavors are on the sweet side with vanilla and caramel predominant, and pepper and agave present, and a little cinnamon. Finish is sweet with pepper and cream soda mix with fruits and mint, leaving silky legs on glass. Price is steep perhaps because of the bottle.

Fine (but pricey) for mixing. No real hedonistic quality about this.

Lots of cooked and raw agave. Tremendous sweetness, almost a flaw. Mild pepper. Better on ice than straight up.

Bottom of the bottle pour, possibly oxidization smoothed finish. Beautiful caramel notes, agave shines and wonderful finish

I've always thought Clase Azul was overpriced. It's good, but their plata runs $75 or $80. Plenty of tequilas that are as good for less.
