Nose is reminiscent of old 1800 Milenio and it’s French oak. Very clean oak aromas from the new barrels used bring a cedar hint as well as some vanilla and the always present agave. On the palate this is light with little bitterness and a very mild wood flavor along with roast agave, caramel and a bit of clove. Finish is solid with a good mid tongue buzz and tingle.

SUAVE ANEJO $190 Oldtown 1522 los valles confirmed additive free organic High-pressure autoclave Nose: Caramel, oak, some citrus, brown sugar, a little heat on top. Purchased in June 2022 for USD85. Color: dark amber, maybe. I'm not a color expert, but it is on the darker side, for an añejo. Aged 24 months. Aroma: caramel, vanilla, spicy barrel notes that I don't come across often. Quite pleasant. Agave takes a backseat; it's presence is minimal. Palate: Very similar to the aroma. More noticeable agave. Not sure what barrels were used, but I don't detect any particular spirit (e.g. whisky or cognac) and I like that. Finish: spicy barrel notes linger. Dry/bitter cherry, perhaps. The spicy barrel notes remind me of Don Felix añejo.

Out of the bottle: agave on the glass sides, bottom edge is agave and caramel, center glass springs out more agave and slight smoked off the top of glass, pear, a slight nose of creamed sherry! Taste: slight bite, then agave, smooths out very nicely. Finish: smooth, agave after wards, 4-25-23: And I continue to head to this bottle for an end of day sip!

This drinks more like a barrel aged gin than tequila. notes of juniper berry, vanilla and oak spice dominate the palate. the finish is very flat and boring. Incredibly overpriced tequila.

The bitterness found in the reposado is less pronounced in this one, but still present. The caramel/toffee aroma is quite pleasing, and I wish it was more present in the flavor.
