Agave, mint, pepper … decent legs.

Eucalyptus forward with the perfect amount of roasted agave swirling around my mouth. This is old school, the style of tequila that made me fall in love to begin with. This punches far above its weight for value, I recommend stashing a bottle or two.

Nose: Spicy agave, minerals, thyme and earthiness. Flavor: Sweetness coats the tongue with a light hint of jalapeño, pineapple and almonds. Finish is medium long with a white pepper zing, and slight bitterness.

Light nose. Hints of agave, black licorice, vegetal and lychee fruit. Smooth on entry without anything special going on in my mouth. A light pepper attack on the finish. Although it's a long finish, I only taste the warmth on my tongue.

Minty aroma and flavor. A bit sweet when it opens up. May make a nice mint cocktail accent.

Lote: CAB2114, bottled on 12-07-2016. Aroma: intense cooked agave! White jasmine flower aroma, light citrus, orange peel, pleasant bitterness. Palate: intense sweet cooked agave! Good sweet, sour and citrus balance, fresh & crisp, I can smell the jasmine flower aroma through my retronasal. Finish is short to medium, the intense cooked agave notes persist but not too long…

The bottle looks like it was made by whoever designed Yoda’s huts half-retarded brother. That being said, it’s a nice spirit. Pleasantly, but not aggressively, peppery on the finish. Lots of sweet notes. Good consistency.

Nice caramelized agave on the nose. Touch of sweetness which slides into a nice bit of heat. Medium body finish.

Review #298 - Cava Don Anastacio Tequila Blanco

My first experience with anything from the Cava de Don Anastacio line. Great looking bottle and a solid distillery. It's always fun going into tasting these thing blindly.
