NOM 1459 | Beautiful bottle with a very well executed extra añejo. It has some bite to it and some pepper notes, in my opinion always welcome given they didn’t try to hide them with additives. Great sipper and a looker for sure.

Great price for either a liter or 750ml. And pretty solid XA in a cool bottle which is uncommon.

NOM 1173 | Awesome hand painted / beautiful bottle. This XA is full bodied, a lot of wood and caramel flavors. Scored high for the value/price, you can’t beat it

NOM 1173 | Pretty neutral on the nose, nothing pulling me in and getting the blood flowing. Semi sweet, wet wood and almonds, short finish that fades into my short memory. *NOM 1173

NOM 1173 | Dark amber appearance. Nose: Butterscotch and vanilla. Ripe dark berries, jammy fruit aromas, and citrus. A cider note, sharp earthiness and undercurrents of oak and cedar. Flavor: Round butterscotch flavors with some nuttiness. Moderate pepper heat, citrus and orange peel. I expected a more opulent mouth feel. Finish: In the finish, the “moderate” pepper heat and barrel spices build to a crescendo. As the decrescendo transitions in, there is pleasing butterscotch and anise, with hints of cedar shavings.

NOM 1137 | This XA from 1137 has the distinct Cofradia profile but nothing that really differentiates it from other product from the distillery. Good but not great.

NOM 1459 | Grand Mayan XA is one of the best values out there. Currently priced at $95 at total wine this XA exhibits everything I love about tequilas. Vanilla and subtle oak and cinnamon on the nose, very pleasant and refined. A little sweeter note but has pepper and subtle bite so you don’t forget you are drinking a tequila! Extremely well made sipper! I tasted it a while ago first and remembered it differently than it is now. I remembered it as darker and more barrel first taste and smell, now, I think they might’ve changed the recipe recently.

My first bottle was definitely tainted. Perhaps by the clay bottle or a bad cork? The second bottle of this was very pleasant, with sweet vanilla and oak notes, although there is something about the nose I find off putting. A decent bottle to introduce noobs to sipping tequila.

Caramel notes on the aroma that are present but still mild for an Extra Anejo. Super smooth flavor that’s bold yet sweet. Sippable with a good finish but it’s a little chemically. Overall great Tequila but the finish doesn’t quite drive it home.

NOM 1459 | Visual: Looks like apple cider vinegar. Not very bright or clear. It does leave nice long legs and tears on the glass. Nose: not very complex nose. Heavy oak presence and alcohol. Almost tastes like I’m drinking whiskey. Some earth, vanilla, prunes, coffee, and vinegar. Taste: Oak dominates, some cinnamon, whiskey, and vinegar. Finish: the finish is nice and long, but withou great flavors. Im getting a mix tangerine and coffee. This tequila was gifted to me, but there is no way I would pay the retail price for this. Its not bad, but It doesn’t taste like tequila to me.
